okok i shall.
does the phone have to be 'FULLY' charged?
and if i have already reflashed 2.1 into it, can i flash the vul. recovery straight away ?
thanks
It's recommended to have it fully charged. If it has 2.1 on it, then yes you can flash the vulnerable recovery and then root it.
it has still failed. would i be doing something wrong ?
Try and run RSD Lite as administrator.
Try reinstalling the drivers.
Apart from that I really don't know...
thanks heaps craig. i actually found out that using WINDOWS XP works alot better. i just decided ill go back to my old pc and try to flash it on that and it works. thanks heaps.
.The first flash of the 2.1 SBF always needs my help to power up. And after I connect the USB again it's finished in 1 second. Makes me wonder if I get a false Finished/PASS status. Is there any way to check this? Any particular properties of the phone to check/look for?
The second flash of the recovery SBF always manage to power up the phone on its own.
And the root update still fails like described in the earlier post.
It doesn't fail. I had the same output as you.
Well - something fails - when I start a terminal and enter "su" I never get it. Titanium Backup reports it cannot get root. And all other apps I have tried also fails. Would flashing a non-service SBF have a greater possibility of working?
I would like to ask- I got Central European Rom with Root and O/C capability, but the physical keyboard has QWERTY instead of QWERTZ layout (it's a German phone). If I change the Rom with Service German one will i loose the root and the O/C capabilities?
Thanks! It is not going to wipe my data, isn't it?
And last question- do you know any software, which can reverse the function of "Y" and "Z" key?

Mine is the same- I don't have average numbers also between 100, 90, 80 e.t.c
I have a question. I'm on step 10. "copy the milestone_root.zip file over and rename it to update.zip." But I don't see this file. I downloaded it and unzipped it and it gave me a "META-INF" and "system" files I believe. Is one of these the file you are speaking of or am I way off. Thanks for any help.
