a lil further detail would be helpful. what mms app are you using? can you send and not recieve? have you installed the gapps properly? is it turned on(that one was a joke obviously). did it work on a sense rom while on boosts' towers? etc etc

Did you try using handcent? what size was the pic? was it over 5m? Do you like green eggs and ham?

THought i would add to the questions...

Ha my sig is just super outta date lol im lazy. I'll update. MIUI is pretty cool though after you theme it. Starts out looking like an iphone, ugh, but a theme fixes that quickly. It just has a lot of functionality and settings, its versatile. I also liked the sms pop up so i could quick reply. No matter what i was doing if i got a text it would pop up so i could reply to it or i could hit the x and reply on my own later, just little things like that. Themeing was easy.

Im actually running cm 7.0.1 atm with first blood rls1 theme and digging it
with savage zen 2.0 kernel.

Handcent has the popup for sms also so you can use it on any rom :)

Quit pointing out solutions and being helpful :)...besides i dont want to install 3rd party app for sms, just my preference.

Well you just go on with your BAD self! :D

I found it makes it alot easier when switching between roms also along with the options that are not there in the stock messaging app

So then you go and delete your stock mms.apk? Also i have my mms.apk themed nicely...how easy is themeing handcent and how good are available themes?

I haven't spent the time YET to theme it. I didn't delete it at all, just set it to not notify me of messages. Guess I need to catch up to the curve and start theming my apps :)

Got a cliff-notes version of what I need to start that?

I do actually...at home...ill pm you later.

Basically just to do basic png type stuff you could get by with 7zip to open zips and apks in a nested form and to update the archive when done, paint.net to edit pngs, png gauntlet to optimize your pngs, and an autosigner to sign the zip you just updated so you can flash it(found one over on xda in development section, its buried...)

if you get more in depth you'll need smali and baksmali jars to edit .dex, HxD for hex editing, A2XML for text and xml edits...the pdf i have outlines all those if you go that deep. Of course you'll want sdk which i assume you have already...and im sure im forgetting something...

I found this link also: https://docs.google.com/Doc?docid=0AcdxIJRSH9ypZGZzc2pxNDlfMjdnazk4OHNxZA&hl=en

Seems to have links to the stuff you are talking about unless they are old files. I haven't look yet.

yeah those links are old but its still good info. Some of the links are OK. I have passed that around on this forum a couple times. Its easiest just to google HxD when he says you need it rather than just follow his links for example...

Dont try and chase the autosign link, just find the one over on xda in evo dev section...few pages deep likely it will say like auto sign zip or something

LOL actually of the last 10 responses in this thread im pretty sure 8 were me. I am OK with talking to myself but thanks for dropping in and breaking up the monotony
