Honestly I've made my own flashable zip of it and tried it. Still don't work.
I actually threw it my theme the last time i tried it and flashed my theme and it still didn't work.
It installs and the camera works but the camcorder part gives the error when you try to record. Which tells me it's within the app.
Idk. Regardless i love my camera and it's recording quality as it sits.
Honestly I've gotten the same error using the stock camera. It got really annoying. It eventually resolved itself but I still got a few occasionally. With the new apk I haven't gotten any errors yet. Works flawlessly for me..

I'm using #2 which seems to be the best rom. the camera mod has also worked for the most people on it. (Props to ldrifta!)
I'm currently installing advanced zvd by the wonderful droidwhisperer. I can check if the camera mod works on that

Yeah i mean I've been on #2 since 1.5 and I'm on .1 now not .2
But i don't see a ROM preventing something within an app from working.
It might be something that had to be installed over and over again till it flashes right. Idk

It's worked for me every time i've installed it. The main reason I made the zip is because I though some people might be installing it wrong.
I'm in a bootloop right now lol, once I fix that, Ill see if the camera mod works with advanced zvd
Ok the camera works fine with a theme (advanced zvd)
Maybe it just varies by phone, some can handle it, some cant..

Yeah I'm guessing it has to. I doubt shiny and me don't know how to install apks.
I'm gonna try a few tricks to see what i can do.
The people that have it working need to make a comparison video of the new one versus the old one BUT it needs to be done on the same phone obviously.
A video of the same thing if possible so there's no visual difference. Make sense? Like a video of a wall with pictures on it or something while moving the camera back and forth. Movement is what shows the real quality of the recorder.

I'm curious of the actual mod can be moved to another camera. Like the ics camera.
It just makes no sense why it works for some and not others with the same rom. It really makes no sense, logically at least.

I honestly have no clue. It seems like everyone should be able to get it. The cameras were software, not hardware, limited. So unless LG just used a total junk camera on it, everyone should be able to get it working. It's not like we're pushing it past it's limits...

That's why i would like to see a comparison video from a phone that has it working.
When our why was it said the stock camera didn't already do 30 fps? How was that determined?

I'm not entirely sure. But I play alot of computer games. May not seem relevant, but you really get to know what fps something is just by eyeing it.
It looked about 15 fps. it looks completely smooth with the mod. It actually looks like a decent camera..

Important info! I could run it fine. I just did a full wipe and re-installed #2 for the heck of it (boredoms a b***h)
I got the error! not a good thing but hooray! it means it's not hardware. There's something in the software likely to do with the rom. Maybe even the launcher?
I am anxious to see what you find out when ya dig around.

Guys i think i got it to work cuz it says lgesteemcamerapk exist and stuff in root explorer then after i restart my luancher then i go to camera bam it works i could record no extract frame thing i deleted the lgesteemcameraapk then after i put it agian it said something.of overitin it and i did it and the cameraapp.apk works ill record later to see if its 30fps

I had it working on whatever comes with #2 perfectly, when I reinstalled I thought id give go launcher ex another try. Didnt work on it. I can try reinstalling default #2 launcher.
Ok, got the stock #2 launcher installed and I'm getting the error still.
Booted to recovery and wiped cache and dalvik as a last ditch effort. I came up empty handed
I'm trying to think of what I had on my old install. I made a few build.prop edits. That's all I can think of..
