Working for some and no reasoning on why it doesn't for others is "not working" by my standards. It really doesn't make any sense and I can't stand when something doesn't make sense. Everything has to be logical to me. And logically something is causing this to work and not work. I dont wanna think about it any more.
Every since the early OG1 days of the android development, ive never understood the developers theory that every phone is different and not everyone will have the same results...even before the refurbished phones and different hardware versions ppl's results would vary
if 100 phones were manufactured exactly the same and ppl flash correctly how is there room for 20 different outcomes? im still baffled by this...

I've only seen it in rare cases like this one where 2 of the same phones can act different and an install wont work for both.
I personally think it has to do with certain apps and how they affect the phone, because not everyone installs the same apps, and what gets deleted as far as system apps on the phone. Some people delete everything they can and some dont delete anything at all.
So there are some variables there that could affect 2 of the same phones and cause them to act different from one another.
Like the poweramp app. Before #2 got fixed, people that had poweramp couldnt flash #2 without bootlooping. Something within the app that caused it to bootloop cause it didn't mesh with the ROM. Strange.

Hardware version? 1 or 1.1?
apps intalled?
ROM and/or kernel?
light or proximity sensor (or other sensor) giving different values to the equation?
whether or not the last app to use the cam has released control back to the system.....

Aesthetics and eye candy are easy for some in the kitchen, when compared to this. It's over everyone's head, and/or they just don't care.
I mean, if some people can't even tell the difference between 15fps and 30fps, why should a dev even bother with it?
Sad indeed... because this is THE mod I'd be willing to pay for.
I've pulled out most of my hair trying to crack this one... but then again - I don't call myself a dev either. lol

I still dont think anyone posted anything in the development section looking for help from a builder. Hell, even a 30 second video on youtube would only take a few seconds to make, asking for anyone that thinks that they can create the mod and it would reach a lot more people that aren't on here.
But if you are willing to "pay" for the mod and want it that bad then make a post and garner up attention and give someone the intiative to try and make it work. If your willing to throw in 10 or 20 bucks, you could easily get up 50 bucks to offer someone to get a "working" mod.

....youre right I'm inclined to think that the ones that don't see the difference to even be concerned are those who jus don't have the stardust to create the magic we're looking for here...its understandable if its over eveyones heads, there are alot of themers here at AF that kang their way to fame... sucks that this phone doesnt get more noteriety on XDA.. i wish the efforts here were focused on the challenges of unexplainable anomalies such as this one rather than simple show and tell,..... i too would pay money for this....actually thought that it was a great paid app idea last night...I wouldn't mind dropping a few bucks to have this 100% stable...

^And thats just some random samli I found on Google for a status bar mod and thats barely a 1/4 of the samli needed to be edited for the mod. Its not that no one cares. Its samli is no wear near easy to read. Its not like theres a samli file in the apk that says "Frames Per Second" and when you open it in Notepad++ has a line that says "Frames_Per_Second_Default=15" and all you have to do is change it to 30.
Not trying to be rude, but if you truly had to have it, you could learn samli. Not trying to be a jerk or anything but just saying

I've tried to learn samli and deal with the mod myself for the last couple months, but to no avail.
Well I attempted to contact the creator of this mod some days ago but he apparently could care less...he had the time to make changes to his XDA account the following day with new info and a new avatar but no time to respond to my PM...told him i was willing to learn everything he had to teach, asked for some links to point me in the right direction, I even offered to fund the project if he focused his efforts on getting it 100% bcuz I respect the time and talent and feel it should be rewarded but he's not interested I guess...I'm officially giving up on this mod, this phone, and subsequently this entire website...this was the only community I found that supported metro phone development but I haven't had metro service since December and refuse to go back....this mod was the only reason i kept my Esteem but its obviously dead now. Gonna snag me a DSLR camera and call it a day...everyone's moved on and now I'll follow suit

Im going to take a wild guess here and say that this is a hardware problem... maybe the cameras in some Esteems are slightly different. I have 2 esteems, on one it works perfect, the other it does not. On both I installed it the same way. One is older and came with ZVB, the other came with ZVC. Does that matter? I have no idea... I just find it strange that it works perfect on the older Esteem.

I honestly think the flaw is in the mod itself. Not that the mod was done wrong but I think the mod wasn't done to its fullest potential. The thing is, so many apps pull from the framework within the ROM even apps. Being that JUST the app was modded tells me that something is missing in that something in the framework should be modded as well to work with the camera. Thus causing some to work and most not work. The glitch being that it "works" sometimes instead of not working.
