Root [MOD] LG Esteem 720p @ 30FPS (UPDATED 9/5/12)

Because the permissions have to be changed to write.

Change permissions?

I had the same trouble with astro while I was trying to make this mod work. I downloaded xplore or root xplore from the market and it worked. Also, I think you could do it from ROM toolbox root explorer.

Hey fuzzy, can you point me towards permissions? I assume they are similar to attributes in windows, butI'm not sure where to look for good info...

Thank you!

Brotha I think we are all SOL cause i tried to undo the camera "mod" and it didnt fix anything. Still says unable to exact frame. Ive learned my lesson here, wait for other people to screw up their phones and see if a fix comes out.

How did you do the mod?

I have done it both ways several times. While I never got the mod to work, I was always able to go back. Did you back up before? Worst case, you can always restore.

So is this stable yet for number two?

for me its well stable i have number two with performance tweak nd have the pnuts newest theme its working with no issues to me when i got it once i used the flashlight apps for a while or used camera in a dim lighted place nd it focused itself bak to good lol but it should be stable

Yes sir works great very nice...thanks
i think the most easy way to do this mod to the esteem is push it via commander tried the other way was a little hard.. but still a nice mod

Here's a wild idea! What if you replace the camera app with this one in a rom then flash it? No?

Flashing it in a ROM or flashing it by itself would be the same thing. And Ive flashed that sucker more times than I can count. I cant make this work even if the world was ending. Just aint meant to be :(

Have you tried to push it with commander? i have tried the flash and never got it to work but when i used commander worked like a charm... if no all i did was open the system/app.. remove the lgesteem from the downloaded file text it should look like this CameraApp.apk ...and pushed by drag and drop to system/app... remove the old camera app look at the file size before you do anything there not the same so you will know the new and old remove the old and reboot.

I only push with Commander ;)

I only flash if I have to, takes too long.

But Ive tried to push it every which way but loose. Any time I push a file I always delete the file Im pushing, then push it over.

I mean if it didn't work before I didn't think it would work now so im not let down by no means. lol

I got it working on #2 2.0 and i noticed that it only records 30fps when saved to internal storage. otherwise reverts back to 15 fps

tht my friend is not true i have my camera save videos to my sd card and it still records at 30fps lol but fyi back up wat u have just in case the error gets u again

Oh no, its still on the SD card either way. The internal portion of my SD records at 30. The external part is 15

im not 100 percent crystal clear either. I have a 32 GB SD card that is separated into two separated partitions. One shows up as INTERNAL when viewed on my PC and the other shows up as EXTERNAL. Both are really on the same 32 GB SD card though. When i record to the internal section it records fine at 30fps. When i try to record on the external part it reverts back to 15fps. I know it makes no sense
