Download latest flashtool here:
NEW X10FlashTool - All in One (15.01.2011) NEW - xda-developers

Extract the Dualtouch.rar from here:
Multiupload.com - upload your files to multiple file hosting sites!
Mirror:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/17170888/Dualtouch.rar

and copy the "Dualtouch" Folder inside the Firmwares Folder of Flashtool.

After that just flash and reboot =)

If the Rom is capable of Dual-/Multitouch you will have it now.

NOTE:
This will just ADD dualtouch feature to your ROM. It will not wipe userdata or something else, see it as an addon =)

`Many thanks to My_Immortal on XDA for this :)

So, I installed the latest DT kernel from SE in my X10 using this trick (Thanks Binary!!!). :)

I am currently on stock SE ROM,
2.0.A.0.504, and I noticed that dual touch was not working on every app, but only on some third-party apps.

So, I did some research and found out how to enable it in every app that supports it! :)

It is very easy!

FIRST FLASH THE LATEST KERNEL, AS DESCRIBED HERE!

And then...

Step 1 (Optional, according to
arkedk
, thanks for pointing out! :) However, I did it on my phone, it doesn't cause any trouble and I haven't personally tested this method without it)

  • Using Root Explorer, navigate to /system, press the Mount R/W button, find build.prop, long press on it and select "Open in Text Editor".
  • After the last entry, add the following lines:

Code:
ro.product.multi_touch_enabled=true
ro.product.max_num_touch=2

  • Press Menu, then Save and Exit.
  • Delete the build.pro.bak that was created (or move it to your sd card, if you want to keep a backup)

Step 2

  • Download this file and, using Root Explorer, copy it to /etc/permissions. Then, long press on it, select Permissions and make sure that these options are checked: the whole first column and the first from the second.

  • Exit Root Explorer and reboot.

DONE!!!! Try it on Google Maps! ;)

Oh! And consider pressing the "Thank You" button if I made your life a little better! LOL! :D

For those that do not have Root Explorer and do not want to purchase it, you can download Super Manager FREE from the market!

my 2.2 became unstable, so i'm back to eminence - but will try it again tonight, 2 questions thou CuBz.
I have struggled to work out how/where to get/install flashtool (can you point me in the right direction please?! - pref a noob guide if poss!)
What is the docomo firmware? i am on "build" .504, do i need a newer version that i am missing!!??

Many thanks

i flashed it in 2mins and nothing has changed apart from i now have multi-touch :D
i'm still on Z's 2.2 rom and it works great.
i just tested out mario kart and steering + throttle control! actually works

Fair enough!! but the flash tool is confusing me, i am about to install but it is in german? can i change this? sorry to be so dumb, way out of my league here!

Wont let me, this forum's crap compared to XDA

I changed the thread title.

You can simply hit the report post button and it will be done.

If you would like for users to be able to change their thread titles, you could ask in the "suggestions and feedback" subforum, as the administrators would have to change the permissions for all users.

Ok, and thanks

I am on z's 2.1 but no dual touch after flash.

I tried to zoom in on a picture but nothing.

anyone have the same issue?

thanks

Hurah!! a have DT on Eminence :D i opened an image (via gallery) and can pinch!!
- will also check that guide out now thx KTP, not tried it with anything else yet!

I have dual-touch on eminence which now works for browser and maps too thanks to My_Immortals post on xda :)

yeah, couldn't quite manage that, i can't seem to access that "permissions" window and am not sure if i edited the prop file correctly either - so abandoned it! is there a way to make those changes using the flashtool?

I use super manager, which allows me to mount the system r/w - but the options mentioned in that guide are not available to me, or i'm just not getting it :(

until now i have not bought any apps, only installed the freebies, simply becuase of how often i have been flashing etc.. and so have been hesitant, i have a shopping list for once i'm confident i have a fully reliable, modified base rom that i can always revert back to should things go wrong.
I think i might be there now, so poweramp and root explorer will be the first 2!
Question though: if i installed those apps once purchased, then make an xrecovery back-up, will that ensure they stay "unlocked"?
And is there a way of easily transferring the paid apps to new ROMs?
Having not made a purchase yet, i am slightly apprehensive - seeing as i am tinkering with tweeks all the time!!

EDIT: I mean to say transfering "my" paid apps, just to be clear!
