What's the best free app for downloading/subscribing/managing/listening to podcasts? I heard good things about Google Listen but it sounds like the latest version is kinda buggy?

I have a friend here at work that likes DoggCatcher ($6.99-ish in the Market; he says its a little pricey but is worth it to him)--it supports stereo bluetooth controls, but he also occasionally uses Google Listen.

I hope that it hasn't been mentioned but I just downloaded a free app called Relax and Sleep for playing different ambient sounds for sleeping. It has a real easy interface, slider bars for adding different sounds and volumes, such as ocean sounds, waves, windchimes etc. Has a pretty good selection and you can add two or more combinations together which you can save as presets. It also has a timer. Can't wait to use it tonite.

Haven't seen mention of my favorite app for the eris, My Tracks (google, inc)

My Tracks for Android

"My Tracks is an application for your AndroidTM phone that enables you to record GPS tracks and view live statistics

Used My Tracks on a week long hiking trip and it was invaluable!! Recorded all the stats we needed and more.

Be careful with Zillow...my wife is a realtor and says the info on Zillow is often based on prices from 2-5 yrs ago....very unreliable.

I use adiko, if you used it before what do you like more about the kindle?

I hadn't heard about adiko until you posted it...are they affiliated with or have ties to the major publishers?

I liked and went for the Kindle app because of the seemingly large library of books they had to offer. I'm still kind of disappointed about how many of my favorite books (mostly science fiction) have still not been digitally converted and made available for purchase and downloading. Amazon seemed to have an "in" with lots of publishers and I was hoping that would quickly translate into an even larger library than currently exists (does seem that many of the newer books are available).

P.S. I am way jealous of your 2.2 Nexus One  (pretty sweet!)

lol thanks :P well as you're rooted, I'm assuming there's a Froyo custome rom out there for the Eris ;)

I don't think Adiko has as big as a collection as amazon wrt publishing partners and it only uses ePub format.

Adiko is pretty simple and basic: Features | Aldiko - eBook Reader Application for Android

Any other helpful keyboard applications? Or applications to customize the eris?

I just downloaded smart keyboard from appbrain. Its pretty cool. Kinda like the droid x keyboard, and the stock keyboard mixed together. A cool feature on it is you can set the transparancy on it to what ever you like, and it has a few diff skins. Its smooth like the droid x keyboard. Not as smooth, but smooth none the less. I like it.

I'd like to try Swype but I can't find it anywhere. It's not in app market and beta.swype.com said it's closed. Is the app not working right or something.

thanks to those of you who have helped me put this list together or provided links to the applications.
