Neat ROM

Thanks SaleSale..then I'll do a full Titanium backup for all the apps and data first.

Otherwise no problems with dropping Neat 4.8 on top of an ICS 4.0.3 system?

No problem, just wipe data, format system, format preload, flash rom

You should copy '' /efs '' folder in your external sd card and pc before flashing any ROM.
You can do it with Root Explorer app. just navigate to the folder and copy it.

No problem, just wipe data, format system, format preload

You can do these mentioned by SaleSale one by one
Or alternatively you can flash Hawker's GS2ROM NUKE Script from recovery which does the same in one stroke.
Full Post with complete instruction by Hawker : http://androidforums.com/3791682-post1.html

And u can download GS2ROM NUKE Script from XDA : GS2ROM NUKE Script By Hawker Paul

Don't forget to copy the ROM file in the internal sd card.
And GS2ROM NUKE should also be copied in the internal sd card if u want to flash it.

REMEMBER : before flashing anything do lots and lots of reading .
99% time it will save you and your phone from getting into any problem.
for the rest 1%, we are more than willing to help.

Did the ROM copy and a full nandroid backup as well as Titanium Pro back up. have spent the last 3 weeks reading in different forums and getting confused with the options!

All went well and the Neat 4.8 is running fine. Titanium seems to have recovered all my apps and settings without problem. Thanks to all for advice.

Would like to have the phone screens looking like the screenshots used
in post 1 of the Neat thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1569686

or on this thread page 49 post #2450

with the wallpaper of the dandelion etc ... is that a Galaxy S3 theme download?

PS only thing that didn't work was couldn't find the format preload command in recovery mode..only format system

Tutorial

Under mounts and storage/format preload? On what kernel are you?

Hi,

kernel version:
3.0.31 -1211311 dpi@DELL251 #3 SMP PREEMPT Thu May 16 KST2013

Jo

PS format preload is now showing on the recovery menu...but wasn't on the version I had before with ICS 4.0.3.

Installed but cant find the icons!! can anyone help please

Not sure what you mean. It changes the theme and features rather than add icons / apps

Are you talking about this screenshot?

Then it's MyLifeRocks Blue Theme v3.
U can download this theme from here :
MyLifeRocks Blue Theme v3

But before flashing this theme, u need to flash Crussader's JB style reloaded theme from here :
Jelly Bean Style Reloaded MOD - XDA
or Dev-host site for JB reloaded : Dev-Host - Jelly Bean Style Reloaded 1.07 - AROMA.zip
JB style reloaded v1.07 works with NeatROM lite 4.8.

Before flashing MLR Blue Theme make a nandroid backup so that u can revert back later if u don't want it.

PS. if you change your device details on left then it'll be easier for us to help.

UPDATE :
Alternatively you can use SaleSale mentioned Tutorial
which doesn't require u to flash Crussader's JB style reloaded theme.

I have the 4 way reboot, but no blue icons, phone is rooted running the latest Neat rom. Maybe it is because I run the apex launcher?

Apologies I've gave you duff information. I used 2 mods to get my setup. First the bonus pack, then XWLSW_BlackSB_23BToggles_BlueClock_BlueCircleBatt.zip

Is on the same download page as the bonus pack. Apologies, I have a terrible memory

Hi bigfoot,
You said u flashed this MOD from XDA : LSW.Neatrom.Bonus.Pack-BBB..

This MOD has transparent mw, 23 stock look toggles, ripple+toggle, aosp lockscreen + toggle, crt +toggle, 4way reboot, 4 lockscreen shortcut etc. u can find the toggles in the status bar.

This MOD doesn't install any new app or turn the app icons into blue/green. and it has got nothing to do with Apex Launcher.
Hope this helps.

I had to re-flash this morning. If I left my phone went to sleep it would turn the screen on, be locked in landscape mode, get hot and not respond until restarted.

Eventually when restarted the screen wouldn't respond so I couldn't unlock it. Has anyone had this before?

Ive tried several versions of neatrom, up until v4.7, and I have to say, that sooner or later they all lock up on me, and nothing but a hard reboot will work.
Ive flashed a few different roms of late, Alliance, Avatar, Paranoid Android, AOKP and none of these lock up. I'm not criticising Neatrom, just making an observation.
At the moment, I'm using Avatar rom, with Dorimanx v9.31 kernel, which I find very stable, apart from the fact that it regularly turns BLN off!
I'm getting the itch to try something else though, but havn't decided on what yet............;)

I've tried most variants of Neatrom and not had a problem with any of them locking up at all. I've ditched the later versions as they seem more battery hungry, though I suspect it is due to time searching for a signal on those roms. Dunno, but earlier versions seem to hold a signal better and battery thus lasts longer. Only mod I use is the no increase ringtone.

Apologies for interjecting here, but mate... The problems you have are not Rom related... You mention you've flashed 5 different Roms recently... With each flash do you do a full wipe... Or after each flash replace apps and data with titanium.? Do you run Hawkers Kernel wipe? Etc

I'm not discrediting anything you say at all but it isn't Neat that causes this problem... My point is that I am 99.9%certain it isn't the rom, don't dismiss it just yet... Please give it another go... The Rom would not give you problems like this... Have you tried LSW?..

I have never experienced any kind of lockup. been on NeatROM since Ice Cream Sandwich.

I've ditched the later versions as they seem more battery hungry, though I suspect it is due to time searching for a signal on those roms. Dunno, but earlier versions seem to hold a signal better and battery thus lasts longer.

I have found the latest NeatROM LSW most battery friendly of all. More than ICS NeatROMs and previous Jellybean NeatROMs.

Seriously doubt it's the Rom. Lots of people are using it without a problem. Where people are experiencing issues, it is usually because they are not performing a full wipe, especially if coming from another Rom, or because of additional Mods they are flashing.

Potential stupid question alert.

I've had a look around but can't seem to work out the main differences between neatROM lite and NeatROM lite themed.

Can I get a rough breakdown of the differences / pros and cons.

I saw the themed has great battery life listed in the features, is there much if a difference from lite?

Hello.

This is the differences list http://d-h.st/yWk

I ytied both full and lite. I prefer lite as you get a more cutomised look and the bloat is gone. I believe that goes a long way to help with battery life.
