Neat ROM

What green circle battery mod?
Was it a jkay compatible one?
Sounds like you installed the one off the neat thread to me

I got it from jkay thread I think.. Cant remember exactly but it downloads & saves as Jkay Green Circle Battery Mod?

Switch off, take out battery for 5 mins and retry

Seems to be alright now, the battery icon has stopped flashing and the screen times out. Any reasons why this happened?

Squirt an air duster down the USB port and give it a damn good scrub with a toothbrush. If you haven't got an air duster just do the toothbrush. If you haven't got a toothbrush then keep your mouth shut! :D

It was definitely jkay one.

I was getting so fed up I decided to go back to LPG so I did factory reset, all the wipes, ran the wiper .zip's, re installed stock LPG, cf root LPG, then bit by bit neat lite 1.2, Siyah, S3 mods, etc. No probs.
Then jkay restore, framework & circle batt mod and guess what......
Yep it still don't work! Aaaarrrggghhh

My beautiful widget clock is also playing up just to rub salt in.

I must be doing something wrong but can't see what or where??

You dont need the jkay restore after you've done a full wipe
the restore is only needed after you flashed jkay and want to go back to stock framework.

You need to start over again. As you already did the Odin Stock preliminary step (not needed, but a good idea nonetheless) then all you need to do is the following:

1. Run my ROM Nuke
2. Install Neat LPG
3. Boot and run the Android setup wizard to initialise your ROM
4. Depending on neat version, if you want Siyah, reboot and install it.
5. Install your usual mods.
6. Install JKay LPG framework.

If you are happy that all is working as it should at this point, take a CWM backup. Only then, consider your circle battery

Here are the ones I've made up myself, and I know these work:
JKay Blue Circle Battery
JKay Green Circle Battery

Mine's a Guinness by the way.
:p

I'm working up to installing Neat XWLPI lite but want some of the apps that have been taken out. Would I be ok taking them from the Neat XWLPI full .zip instead of downloading each of the apps I want?

Easiest would be to paste the .apk files from Neat full.zip into the Neat Lite .zip. (/system/app) before flashing Lite

When you install neat lite, then you will have the extra apps you want there when you first boot.

How interesting. I wasn't aware that JKay was doing separate battery mods on v14 framework for LPG. Must have a look at that. Have you got a link cozins17?

No sorry my error. Was looking at theme/icon options on jkays xda Page earlier & was sure from there.

It was in fact from our helpful friend Hawker

I'd happy give u that Guinness for ur help but.....

Followed steps again installing everything then backup, install battery mod & no change!

ok.
tell me EXACTLY what you have done, step by step

OK, here it is:

Factory reset including internal usb wipe (phone then doesn't reboot-have to boot into download & Odin flash LPG Stock)
Factory, Cache, Dalvik, Battery Wipe's x 2
Flash LPG CF Root
RomNuke
NeatRom Lite 1.2
Quick set up
Restore (data only) through CWM
Install Siyah 3.3.2
Install S3 LPG/Galaxy S3 Theme Mod's
Phone seems OK - backup
Install JKay Green Circle Battery Mod reboot - circle battery shows 85% - actual battery 70something. Exactly same as before  :(

First off, ROM nuke is the first step, then flash rom.
You only need to flash cf root if this rom was a stock rom via odin.
If this rom was neat then it already comes with cf root or siyah depending on version.

What do you mean by cwm restore data only?

So should I do ROM Nuke then LPG stock in Odin, then the rest?

When I've flashed Neat, I've lost root so had to re do CF to get root, CWM, etc.

In CWM app I use Restore, un ticking Kernel, System & Cache. This restores my apps, home screens, ring tones, email accounts, messages & so on.

Sorry you've lost me there. I don't know what you're doing in this restore step.
Whatever you are doing in this "cwm" restore is where it's going breasts ascending.

Next time bite the bullet and set everything up from scratch. Don't do this restore step and see what happens.

Or by "cwm" do you mean titanium backup?

how do you fix the clock bug? i dont have a clock to set my alarm. unfortunately, clocked has stopped. i have UHLPS neatromlite + 4.6 domination.

No not Titanium Backup.

If you go into CWM Manager app (that u get when rooting) you get options;
Reboot into Clock work Recovery
Reboot into Download mode
Backup
Restore
Install APK's
Install Kernel
and few others (I'm not at computer so can't do screenshot) it is the Restore option I use (data only)

Just to check (as I try this all over again) Unless I'm doing something wrong I have to re flash CF-Root, I just installed LPI from sammobile & lost root - which I need to install Rom Nuke & ROM's etc??

If you are on stock LPI and not rooted.....the first thing you need to do is root with a CF kernel as per ironass "dummies guide". After you are rooted make a nanoid backup and a TB backup as well. Once there you need to make sure you have the Rom you wish to flash downloaded to your phone and Hawkers "nukerom" zip downloaded as well. Reboot into recovery mode and flash Hawkers "nukerom"......immediately after that you flash the Rom. When flashing is done you reboot the phone.

Only after you have done all this do you worry about restoring apps and data. Get the above done and then check back here if you need more help.

Hi Lotsip,
Yeah I understand and know what you have said thank you. What I wasn't sure was from Hawker's previous message that I may or may not have mis understood. When I have flashed the stock through Odin, I have always lost root. Then I have had to re flash the appropriate CF Root to get access which then enables me to get into Recovery and then flash the RomNuke and ROM's & mods, etc.

Basically, I flash stock through Odin before a change (i.e. LPG to LPI) and this takes away root access. Irrespective of what the ROM has or does.

Thanks, I'm prob not explaining very well.

Yes, flashing a stock rom through Odin will take away your root.....everytime.

Once you are rooted do the backups as stated in my previous post. They are your get out of jail free card if anything were to go wrong. Then you use CWM in your phones recovery mode, not Odin, to flash custom roms such as NEAT. When you do it this way you will not lose your root as you are flashing a rooted rom. If you need any help flashing with CWM myself or someone here will be more than able to help.

Does this clarify things or am I still missing your question?

I understand all of this and is as I thought/what I do - I was misunderstanding/reading part of a previous message.

I'm generally OK with flashing ROM's but thank u for clarifying again.

Another bloody problem after sorting out the battery issue. Phone wotn shut down when i tell it to, it bloddy restarts and wont stay off. Even if i tell it to restart it Reboots, and shutting down also Reboots it. Im Pissed to say the least lol

Angry Maj out xxx

How do you keep your data / wifi folks?

I mean, Do you use any battery app such as Juice defender or you turn on-off wifi / data manually? Do you turn sync on or not?

I would llike to know how you handle this. Maybe some of you keep data on all the time or turn it off after checking e-mails and so. Same with wifi.

Please, let me know cause I would like to find a middle point between saving battery and keeping things up to date.

Thank you!

I have used Juice Defender once upon a time.....I can say it help my battery out a bit. But at that point I was on 2.3.3, which we all know was a battery hog to begin with.

On ICS I don't use anything. I can say with my NEAT rom battery life has been so good I haven't even thought about using such apps. If you ask many around here they will tell you they do more harm to your battery than good.

I personally turn off my auto sync as I really have nothing that needs to be checked constantly. If I want to check it constanly....I check it. My wifi I leave off if I am not using it, but I try to connect to it if I am doing some heavy internet surfing or downloading.

My data I leave on all the time. I mainly use it for quick surfing, checking emails and things of that nature. Most ICS roms lately seem to give pretty good battery life, but so far I find NEAT Lite to be the best.......by a ways.
