Neat ROM

Hawker,Ironass, Syd, Sale, Dyno, Twinn et al, may i know which keyboard you are using with neatrom JB? I mean which one you like, of course.... :)

By the way, dramed, SCP I am back on Neatrom JB as prophesied by you :D

Swiftkey for me. I was on swype for about 6 months, but grew more and more frustrated. Cant fault swiftkey though

SwiftKey now, I did like Swpe but the beta is not working properly with JB. I recommend SwiftKey, it's very clever at predicting words and is also a fast learner. It gets better with use.

For those of you on the JB leak, PhilZ 3.71 is now up.

3.70 --> 3.71: added format /preload on special wipe before install new rom
Merge Koush last changes: (+ add credit inside code source)
- dedupe: fix buffer overflow, the length of key was incorrect, 4.2's libc detects the overflow and crashes
- fix bug where you cannot partition internal sd
add wipe all before install ROM: wipe all user data + wipe system
second pass at fixing partition sdcards menu by PhilZ, now it should work as supposed

I shall flash Philz 3.71 later. I know it's all relative, but at the moment, with a poor HSPDA signal, and screen on half brightness, nothing else turned off (email etc.) and posting here, the charger is keeping the battery from discharging rather than charging, which is frankly ridiculous. I don't blame salesale at all, the and it's not an issue for me personally, but there has to be better battery life for JB soon surely?

As has already been pointed out, the new releases of Philz dont offer any battery improvement.

And to be honest, I dont understand anything that Hawker just posted regarding the changelog. So for me, the uneducated, is there a real enough reason to flash this update or would I be best holding fire till a siyah/ dorimanx?

Swiftkey for me, used to use Swype then tried Swiftkey & not gone back.

Having said that, I like the keyboard JB Neat came with! Guessing its new stock, if it had few features Swiftkey has & was tiny bit bigger I'd prob stick with it!

I was hoping it improved battery consumption on my SGS2. I know I'm clutching at straws, I guess the only thing to do for those that need decent battery life is to be hunt down and freeze /remove bloatware etc.

NEAT ROM XXLSJ with PhilZ kernel

Thanks everyone for their inputs about the keyboard. I will try out swiftkey 3 today. And before Ironass comes down on me saying that this is going far afield, I hereby ask him how he managed to get such phenomenal battery life on stock kernel (philz) and whether he will share his methods with us mortals :)

Told you so... :D

I`m also using Swiftkey, good prediction for fast typing.

Great battery life. How much was the screen time and talk time?
I can`t get past 19 hours with around 2hrs screen and 2hrs talk.

See posts #4 and #7, here for a more detailed explanation and instructions..

ask in one mount (sic).

Mates, reproduced above is the interaction I had today with that most prolific of devs (but not the most eloquent, i am afraid :D ), Dorimanx. In my eternal quest for getting the Dorimanx or Siyah kernel for our beloved Neatrom JB, I asked Dorimanx about updates on that front. His reply, while quite cryptic at first glance, is really simple. What he means is "Ask in one MONTH (for updates about the JB leak). Thought I'd post it here.

This rom can be flashed through recovery ye?
And i'm coming from Resurrection Remix so do i need to do a full wipe? I presume i do

It is best if you flash after a full wipe. And yes, it will have to be flashed through recovery, just like you flashed ressurection remix.

PhilZ kernel 3.72 is up! :)

"Changes:
PhilZ Touch 3.40: exFAT support for external SD in recovery !
"

Download, here.
