Neat ROM

I'm a bit confused. Is this the same as Neat lite 1.2? If not What's the difference/s?

As far as I can see, there is not Spanish language and modem changed. Should I install it replacing 1.2 or not?

Thanks again for your help!

I'm guessing you mean, "DXLPB NeatRom Lite"

This is based on the ICS ROM for CSC code OLB = SINGAPORE / MALAYSIA / THAILAND / VIETNAM and has the DXLPA modem which is not particularly suited to Europe or the America's.

As you have already mentioned, the language pack is, English, Malay, Vietnamese, Korean, Thai and Chinese .

As to whether you install it or not... the choice is yours! ;)

SaleSale, is there another way to donate apart from PayPal as my account is currently in dispute and I cannot use it?

Thanks to you Sale for another great ROM

Installed LPI Lite this evening.
I've been on Neat LPG for quite some time now, so as this is a new firmware version I decided to do the full monty. This is what I did:

1. Flashed LPI stock from sammobile
2. flashed old bootloader
3. flashed LPG cf-root
4. flashed LPI neat lite
5. reboot and set up phone in the usual way
6. flashed siyah and performed all my usual new rom tweaks
7. tweaked jkay LPG framework install script and installed over LPI
8. restored JKay deluxe settings settings in deluxe app.
9. tweaked JKay to green circle battery
10. applied my green theme and jelly bean animations
11. installed spell checker
12. installed S3 tweaks including S3 dialer with big caller picture, and S3 music player

All back to normal now! I know it may be a bit of an overkill as I would have saved a lot of time by simply flashing Neat LPI directly over my LPG setup, but I get more peace of mind doing it this way.

Not noticed any difference between LPI Lite and my previous Neat LPG, but that's not a bad thing, as I've been 100% happy with LPG. Hopefully Neat Lite LPI will live up to its predecessor.

Top job Sale. Well done indeed mate
:)

For some reason I was hoping there was a spelling mistakes there, don't know why.
Anyway how's performance and battery (yeah I know, to early to tell on the latest build) but I left it on neat Rom a few versions ago and sold it on to a friend and they've just asked me what else I can do with it. I usually recommended what I've experienced myself but it's not really an option. So before I start blabbering, is it worth nicking their phone for half hour?

I don't think you will see a huge world of difference between Neat Lite LPG and LPI to be honest Shotty, as is the case for most firmware updates I suppose!

However, there seems to be an even newer firmware just released on SamMobile:
PDA: LPS (Argentina)
Modem: LPG (not heard of this one. It this new?)
CSC: LP4

I do hope my night's hard work flashing from scratch has not been in vain!

Nice one mate. Was that a hint? I'll track down that modem when I get a few minutes, I'm just caining my mates at tiger woods at the moment and on a *** break so shouldn't get complacent and get back to it it. Just remembered *** gets edited out so cigarette

hi, i have a few questions so hopefully i can get them answered here. I have never flashed a custom rom before so i'm a bit of a noob. I'm currently running the stock ics with Siyah kernal, but the battery life is pretty bad. Is the battery life very good with this rom? (with the correct tweaks of course).
Does it matter which version i download? eg. DXLPB NeatRom Lite or XWLPI NeatRom Lite.
Will I lose all be data when i flash and will i need to re-install everything?
Finally, would you consider this the best rom when it comes to battery life and performance, or is there a better one out there?

Hello friends!

This may be a stupid and obvious question but I am trying to understand a bit more.

What are the differences between LPG and LPI firmware?

Now I have LPG Neat 1.2 Lite. Should I update to LPI Neat Rom Lite?

Is there a possibility to install JKay Deluxe Settings with LPI?

I also see that there is a modem for my country UHLPF Can I flash it directly (recovery)?

I would like to keep my phone up to date but I'm not sure if this is an upgrade or just a version for some countries or Galaxy S2 models.

Thanks again for all your help!
Glore2002.-

hello hawker, wanna ask you where i can get a compatible zip file for neatrom lite lpi of the s3 menu icons? becoz everytime i flashed it with neatrome lite 1.2 i always get an error message especially to my message, call and text button always keep on saying application not installed.dats y i ended up not flashing the s3 menu icons.

I've just made a nandroid backup of my Neat Rom Lite 1.2. Backup to external SD. When backup finished and from there on when restarting into Recovery, at bottom of recovery screen, I get these messages:

CWMR Touch v5.5.0.4
e: Can't open /cache/recovery/log
e: Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log

Are these error messages? If so What should I do to fix it?

Thank you!

Boot into recovery and wipe your cache and dalvic cache. Reboot the phone normally, then boot back into recovery mode and you should not see those there anymore.

Blooming heck sale!

What do you eat for breakfast?

Whatever it is, I'm adding it to the ironass diet!

6 ROM's in about 48 hours. To say you are prolific would be an understatement!

I have to say that, personally, I shall be sticking with XWLPI NeatRom Lite. The reason for this is two fold.

First I am a big fan of JKay's framework and DeLuxe Settings. For me, they are so useful and indispensable. Currently, JKay supports up to LPG, (I know, I said I was on LPI, but that is thanks to Hawker's largesse, here), although he is working on an updated, v14.1, version for both LPG and LPI. See, here.

The second reason is that since Samsung do not, as far as I am aware, issue changelogs, there seems to be no way of finding out what improvements, if any, are in a new firmware.

You cannot rely on firmware lettering/numbering as, for instance, Argentina had a firmware release of LPK in May, (the only country AFAIK, to get LPK), whilst Europe, unbranded, was only just getting LPD.

I'm not convinced that the, "Build date", offers much help as that just tells you when a particular firmware was, "signed off". It does not seem to tell you which Samsung build a particular firmware release is based on. For all I know, UHLPS, could be based on the old LPS firmware that came out in March for Poland, (Samsung have gone round the alphabet).

I have to say, that I wholeheartedly echo other posters comments on sale. He is one of, if not the most, helpful and polite developers that I have ever come across. He certainly knows his stuff and nothing seems to be too much trouble for him. His NEAT ROM's are a joy to use and the Lite versions give me so much better battery life when used in conjunction with the Siyah, v3.3.2, kernel and ExTweaks. I must also not forget to mention his mod's, many of which I use, as, like the JKay framework and settings, they allow me to configure my phone for my optimal usage and ease.

For my own selfish reasons, I don't want sale to burn himself out or become disillusioned as I know that things are not easy for him at the moment.

Therefore, I am going to do something that I have not done before, and that is to donate again to sale, After all, it seems only fair that I've used 4 or 5 of his ROM's and a donation is the same as paying for something in the Play Store. Plus, as a donator, sale emails me with the latest ROM's and download links before going public. This allows me to get a jump on the majority of users but does have its drawbacks... namely, I'm afraid to get drunk in case I get an email from sale, with a new release that I've been waiting for, when I'm in the pub! This has actually happened. As I started to download the firmware, there and then, my companion told me, in no uncertain terms, that she would shove my phone where the sun don't shine!

That brings me to my final request sale... could you please give donator's a 24 or 48 hour lead in time before releasing so that I do not end up walking in a funny way. ;)

Oh! I nearly forgot... what do you eat for breakfast, again?

Thanks Sale!

Great work. I want to try this ROM. I am not sure if JKay works on it. In the following link Free Cloud Storage - MediaFire

there is a LPS version. Is this the one I should use with Neat UHLPS ?

I like and use JKay too and want to make sure I can use it with Neat Lite.

Thanks again for all your help.

What settings you use to get most of your battery with this ROM?

Thanks Sale!
