Root New .591 Gingerbread (Gingerblur) leak

im probably gonna load this up later tonight...has anyone noticed ANYTHING different between this and .588??

This is a new system and kernel, you will be able restore a nand backup to (4.5.588 or 4.5.573) but you can not restore back to Froyo.

okkkkk then no thank you!! I want to be able to sbf back to froyo just in case of warranty.. =)

You CAN SBF back to Froyo. You CAN NOT restore a Froyo based nandroid backup if you are running Gingerbread. If you want to restore a Froyo based nandroid you will have to SBF first.

Ok, thanks for clearing that up...........I need to go to mydroidworld.com and check things out for myself.

exactly, according to what ive read there is ZERO difference between this and the other versions of GB in the sense that you have to SBF to get back to Froyo

Just so you guys know, the deodex file I posted earlier works just fine.....I updated BWC theme for 4.5.591 and applied it with no issues :D

Just installed .591. It seems a bit faster. The keyboard lag is not as bad. Still a bit laggy though. I will see if my Wi-Fi connectivity is any better as well (as .573 and .588 were quite bad).

Still losing wifi. Camera resolution setting doesn't save.

I sure hope they are on those issues and will get them fixed in a final release.

Tired of sbfing and resetting my phone. The ota gb is so close I can smell it in the oven. When it comes out im gonna spread some apex all over it and top it off with some bwc!

Just curious here. I have had a couple of problems in the past with the crt/battery mod sending my phone into a loop where it keeps telling me that it is runnning into errors loading system apps. The boxes keep flashing up and the only way I can figure to get out is to sbf back and start over. Is there a way to get to nandroid in gingerbread similar to how you could do it in froyo? I press the hope key and power but it will not open nandroid when I press the search button.

Thanks

I did notice one minor difference between .588 and .591. V Cast was re named to Apps.

I noticed that when I was re-freezing the bloatware with Titantium.

Some crazy fast quadrant scores (for my phone). 2150-2250 on my first 2 tries over clocked at 1.2. First time it ever cracked the 2k even with the old version runnig at 1.3.

Home and Power keys will take you to stock recovery. You want to go to CWM recovery. To do that, either use Droid 2 Bootstrap to boot into it or plug your phone into a power outlet and reset it. Then you can scroll down to backup and restore with the volume keys and make your selection with the camera button.

Can anybody help me out here? I flashed to .588 and have downloaded .591. However, when I try to install it, the install aborts. Any thoughts?

Are you loading it right over 588?
I started with a fresh sbf back to stock and used the P3 three step, and then loaded 591 right over it without wiping data or cache and it booted up fine with the exception of gingeroot which stayed on the "M" logo for about 15 minutes before I pulled the battery and restarted. I checked and it was rooted but for some reason never self rebooted.
