new fresh rom....

Right. As stated, if you switch from Sense to Launcher, you will have to re-setup as they are different all together. For example, I have one setup with Launcher and another with Sense. I can switch back and forth if I wanted to and my setup would stay for each respective one. Again, that is with clear defaults only, not clear cache, or anything else.

your own custom scene for sense worked?? mine was gone!!! not in the list of scenes for me to choose..

thats what happened.. i cleared cache.. my bad.. noob!!!

Hmm...didn't actually save mine as a custom name, although I should have. You did save yours correct? It should work, not sure why it isn't for you.

yea.. i did.. but i did a clear cache.. and thats im sure what happened.. got home switcher now.. sweet app.. thanks again man..

Hi can anyone confirm or verify something on Fresh 2.0D.
Does Cell standby also need to be below 50% or only TWS need to be below once you click Cell standby ?
I'm confused, I thought only TWS need to be at 0%.

So I just switched to this ROM and I am pretty happy with it. All seems to work good.

Something strange though, I've pretty much decided I like the 2.1 launch screen over the sense ui one. But when I run the standard launch the phone is very sluggish to wake from sleep. Once I have had it open for 5-10 seconds things pick up. It takes 2-3 seconds after unlock to even show icons.

When I switch back to sense the phone immediately wakes up and everything works quickly.

I read something about setCPU needing to be removed. I have fresh 1.1 with gumbo and setCPU on it. Do I need to remove setCPU before I flash to to fresh2.0d? Also I have EStrong Task Manager. Should I uninstall that prior to doing the flash?

From what I am reading, this should be pretty quick and its time for a new Rom...1.1 is getting old for me.

When you flash the new ROM it will wipe out your apps, so no need to uninstall anything prior, just dont use setcpu after you flash it.

You're supposed do a full wipe before flashing a new OS version, which wipes all your apps. If you back them up to your SD card first, it'll be a lot faster to restore them than having to re-download them all one by one.

eek! Not sure if I want to loose all my apps and my homescreen setup. If I back them up to SD, will all the data for the apps save too? For example, will my millage program retain all my millage program and my network data counter keep all my data counts, etc.

Also, how do I back up the apps to SD?

I would recommend you try out Titanium Backup, it save your app plus data with the donation version. Much better if you going to flash different ROM. I believe other backup allow you to backup app and data but they don't restore Market link to the application.

I've used my bluetooth earpiece without any trouble at all.

Side note:
Would someone mind just confirming sluggish behavior out of the standard homescreen after being awakened from a lock screen on their phone? Just want to see if it is my phone or not.

Guys, this will be the first flash I have ever done. I can load this with the fresh kitchen correct? I want to make sure I can use the kitchen when I do this. I have been reading everything I can and some stuff is still confusing, I just don't want to brick my phone.

Kitchen is not setup or confirmed to work with 2.1 ROMs yet, as far as flashing is concerned.

He tells you exactly how to install it in his post here:
[ROM] 04/06/10 | Fresh Rom 2.0d (Android 2.1) | vanilla lock fix inside - xda-developers

As long as you have a Sprint HTC Hero, it shouldn't brick your phone.

So I have several options with this. Backup all user apps and backup all user apps + system data....is the one with the system data the one I want to run?

For what I am trying to do...do I need the donation one? I know everyone says its great, and I will donate if it does what I want it to do, however I want to make sure everything is good before I donate.

Basically, the donate version allows you to automate the backup/restore process and repair the links to the Market.

The "backup user apps + system data" process is the big time saver by restoring your home pages. Should you have problems after flashing a new ROM, you would want to use a different feature omitting the "system data" when you restore.

Is there a big difference in overall speed between Fresh 1.1 w/ GK and Fresh 2.0d?

I think the biggest difference is that programs work great on 2.1. Android 1.5 was altered to allow it to function with CDMA. 2.1 is native to CDMA. There are apps that are designed for 1.6+, so they won't work on the 1.5. That alone is the reason I made the switch to 2.1.

Speed wise, the optimized 1.5 is just as fast as the 2.1 (seat of the pants testing)
