Root Newbie having trouble with root

Hi there tried again and it detected my device and thought id put a 1gb partition on it but it doesnt show?

the option was to have it as ext2 so i left it as that, should i have choosen something different?

also when done i just put gv on by unzipping from sd card like i did first time but i didnt wipe the cache or anything like that?

where have i gone wrong?

The EXT partition won't show in Windows because it's a Linux partition.
EXT2 should be ok as far as I know, apparently 4 still can lack support so 2 or 3 should be ok.
When you get into GV download Terminal Emulator from the market and follow the instructions to move the cache to SD.

no i ment it doesnt show as space on the phone, ill try that terminal emulator and get back to you

do you have a link to that emulator as i cant see one on the market

another question if you will indulge me guys, im just wondering why i have partitioned 1gb it only gives me 262 mb on the sd card (a2sd)?

i actually did it again and set 3gb in the new partition, so this is the quick system info from it

sd card storage
totalo 11.78, free 8.41

a2sd storage
total 2.88gb, free 2.66

internal storage
total 148mb, free 93.30mb

system storage
total 250mb, free 109mb

system cache
total 40.00mb, free 31.10mb

memory
total 406mb, free 232mb, idle 54.21

thats too big. You'll never use it. Also, over 2GB is not recommended.

I find 1GB easily sufficient.

thats what I wanted to find out too. Mine shows as 1GB. Yours should too, providing youre using QSI.

quick system info

Edit> ah see you got result via titanium.

Titanium is notoriously crap for this information. Take no heed.

What, both QSI and titanium showed your 1GB partition as 250MB?

If so, your partition was 250MB ;)

ok ill do it again

but why does the whole 1gb not show why does only 250mb show?
250MB is the System partition in the phone's internal memory, so you can't touch this now.

The only thing you are doing is changing the partition size on SD card:
from 2.88GB + 11.78GB
to 1GB + 13.66GB + any unallocated space.

wish i had read that think ive dudded the card, found out i couldnt re-size the card so tried to format it hoping that it would all come back together, now phone doesnt recodnise the card :(, any way i can save it or can i format it (in phone) to save it or is it gone?

i hate this so much!!!!!
