No.

Suroot gets very upset when people use rom manager ;)
Use gparted as it says in the guide - much more accurate and less prone to do bad things for no reason.

oh god my head hurts anyone fancy breaking it down for me?

ie 1. download this
2, 3 and so on

keep in mind ive now running gingervillan or do i need to do all that again?

From SU's guide
If I wanted to do it, is there a step by step process?

Assuming you are rooted;

1) Backup your SD card contents to your PC
2) Download GParted Live cd, burn to CD and boot to it GParted -- Live CD/USB/PXE/HD
3) Connect your device in Recovery mode and mount as USB mass storage
4) Resize the existing FAT32 partition from the back, leaving space after it and create an EXT partition in the space. Steps for the GUI are below.
In the drop down menu (top right) select the SD card (be careful not to select your HDD)
Right click on the FAT32 Partition and select resize
Press the Up arrow on "Free Space Following" until you have the desired sizes
Click Resize
right click in unallocated space and select New> EXT format of your choice
Click Apply

5) now you just need to flash your ROM with a2SD+ support.

Alternatively, you can download and ROM manager to partition the SD card, however you cannot easily check the partition is correct. Also, I do not recommend using ROM manager at all. It looks easy to use (and it is) but people using this can get into trouble and it takes away the requirement of knowledge on what it is doing, which is useful to help you get out of trouble.

why do you need to burn it to cd?

You have to create a bootable CD or DVD.
That file is an ISO file which Windows will make it into a bootable CD when you burn it.

EDIT:
It needs to be a bootable CD because Gparted is actually Linux.
You can't run Linux in Windows.
Only Linux can create and see EXT partitions.
So you have to boot into Gparted (Linux) then create the EXT partition.
Remove the CD at the end and reboot the PC back into Windows.

Thanks for the vote of confidence. :)

I understand that there are some risks of bricking the phone here. Perhaps, I should wait till SGS2 is available next month, and only then start messing with S-OFF and custom MTD... :D

i ran the program but it didnt see my device!

also im confused with this part

Resize the existing FAT32 partition from the back- what is from the back?

That means changing the partition size by moving the right-side slider.

I use Pure Calender (paid), stock gmail app and poweramp (paid)
The paid apps come from the market and are the best I have found but there are probably free equivalents.
Poweramp has a time limited free trial I think.

apps2sd (the app off the market) or apps2sd+ (root)?

If you're using apps2sd+ (SD partition etc) this is completely different to "move to SD" and yes, that option will still show.

I think its apps2sd root as its not on my appbrain list of apps but it is called apps2sd free so dunno but I've moved things Like adobe and whatsapp which I couldn't with apps2sd

Hang on you are on GV now?

You have 2 options.

1) You can set default install location via applications menu to SD card (external). This is the FAT32 partition of the card. Like standard, but allows all to be moved.

2) Partition your sd card, leave everything internal (make sure install location is also set as this) and let apps2sd+ do everything (all you need to do is move dalvik cache).

If you partitioned your SD card, you shouldn't be doing option 1. At least not for everything.
