Time to put Galaxy Nexus waiting hat back on.

"Yeah... another rumored date passes by..." :o

I think we should just expect a oct 31st announcement date... if it comes before that great, if not well then you can start getting impatient =p

We will probably know a little before if invites are sent out. I cant imagine google wouldn't have a decent media crowd for a N5 (possibly N10) release.

Looks like Google will be giving out Kit Kats for Halloween this year ;-)

I love all the speculation. :-) this is the first time I've waited for a phone release. Maybe in the future it won't be so fun, but all the "leaks", hints, and speculation at least give me something to do while I wait ;)

So if they release on the 28th you would assume invites would go out by the 21st by the latest.... Which is only like 5 days away. :)

I still think we're looking at somewhere between November 7th and November 14th for a release seeing as the Galaxy Nexus was released the 11/17/11 and the Nexus 4 was released 11/13/12. Definitely a small cluster there.

You should have seen the Galaxy Nexus pre-release thread. What an epic ride that was, all 88,000+ posts not including all the post deletions that occurred.

By release I meant the official unveiling and announcement.. But yeah, I think it'll be mid November before we can purchase one.

That's where almost all of my posts came from, haha. I think the "Verizon Galaxy Nexus Waiting Room" was ridiculous too, since we knew they were going to carry it, but had no idea when..

Yeah, I only had roughly 5 posts before that thread. Now look at where I am :D

Oh the epic GNex thread, of which many ballads have been sung. I am a bit disappointed this thread isn't nearly as insane.

As a GNexer I think I'll be going this route over the other options right now. I barely hit over a gig of data now and would fit in well with the AT&T prepaid plan. I'm on wi-fi all the time and I get zero data in my house with Verizon anyway.

I just feel like giving up stock Android and easy rooting is too much, even with an unlimited plan now. A GPE is really out of my price range.

While my crack flashing has decreased greatly on the GNex, I still want to have that option open to me. We all know that Android developers come up with stuff that we never even knew we needed.

That said, I hope the 28th is the day. As much as I still love my GNex, I'd really like to comfortably through a day on a charge and all the other perks of a new phone.

But the practicality of usb otg when you're out and about would be annoying. Imagine a usb stick, the otg cable, and your phone in your pocket listening to music while walking the streets :D
There was that kickstarter project to make a compact microUSB microSD card reader for OTG capable devices. I got an email the other day to say that mine has shipped, will see how it works when it arrives.

Meanwhile I use a usb stick for nandroids - saves a lot of space on the phone.

I love my gnex but am ready for a new phone, especially after seeing coworkers all picking up HTC One's and Galaxy S IV's...

I don't like the way Verizon handles updates and new phones on their network and am willing to give up unlimited data to leave their network. Because of where I live T-Mobile isn't much of an option (due to their lack of coverage) so it's looking like AT&T it is, which is fine as long as I can get a phone with an unlocked bootloader and one that I can "tinker" with.

I will miss having a spare battery (with extra charger) when I go to a new phone though, it's come in handy for long days away from a charger countless times now.
