Nexus 5 Pre-Release/Speculation Thread

This thing needs to get announced already, so my science can continue.

It is slowing scientific progress more than the government shutdown :p :rofl:

Interesting, I looked at it and to me it looks like the Asus TF701 but with less bezel. But the specs aren't similar at all because the TF701 uses Tegra 4, not Snapdragon 800. Oh well, on to the next one.

Not that exact case, but yes. I forget the brand myself. The article alone mentioning Spigen is old news in general. The least important stuff trickles in later from these tech sites. There are a small number of third party companies that have cases ready or for order.
 
If something is bound to happen today what time is most likely? Noon EST? I'd like to know when I can stop getting my hopes up for the day and start hoping it'll happen the next day..

Well, we won't know until it happens. I say early-late afternoon if it does, because we're well into our morning here on the east side. I have to remember they're 3 hours behind.

I'm guessing noon would be the earliest we'd hear anything about anything really, since it would be 9 AM there... Hopefully they send something out at noon saying there will be something at 7 PM EST that you can watch online. :)

Say, whats the likelihood of the release date being the same as the launch/announcement day?

I would like to have atleast a few days of a heads up in advance...

That would be new for them. For their phones anyway. They did it with their Chromecast I believe. Either way I'm ready. I just want it announced already with availability date afterwards. Plus I wanna see what KitKat has for us.
 
We've seen quite a bit of the user facing changes in 4.4 already. I'm sure there are surprises yet to discover though.
 
I just want some info! It's something about the new nexus season that I love. I love my HTC One, but I won't hesitate to sell it (or keep it, depending on how much the 5 goes for) and get the Nexus 5. I re-upped with AT&T this past summer when the black HTC One came out, but lately I've been contemplating jumping ship to Straight Talk. Any idea what the ETF would be?

Update: And just moments after we published this, the retailer has pulled the option to actually pre-order the Nexus 5 along with its release date, specs and on-contract pricing. All of this smells fishy and someone might be losing their jobs over at Belsimpel for prematurely leaking the next Nexus smartphone.
