My plan, watch Google Play / Devices with laser like focus. The moment the N5 appears I'll be all over it. Constant determined focus will be all important.

well hopefully sometime soon. I don't even know why I am following this thread, since the nexus 5 isn't making its way to vz

Ugh, I forgot how bad the gnex GPS was.

It nearly got my lost tonight when the connection dropped out and wouldnt re-establish

I'm not getting the N5 either(not enough reason to get rid of my N4).
However, the N5 rumors are tied closely to Kit-Kat, which I eagerly await.

true. But being that its vz that will still take some time, even for a rom to be released. rumors on Kit-Kat haven't been anything that is earth shattering. tho i wouldn't mind the transparent toolbars

It's just the LG G2 that's warped....i don't get this curved thing at all.

It's marketing/differentiation. In a crowded market, you have to make your products stick out somehow. Sure, it's pretty pointless, but paint an iPhone 5 gold and everyone laps it up.

Of course, the nexus has a history of having a curved screen. My GNex had a curved screen as did the previous Nexus I believe. Utterly pointless, although some will claim it moulds better to the contours of your face.

IMO the LG will not fit too comfortably in the pocket and prob won't sit that nicely on a desk. It'll probably look quite stylish though, and as we know (iPhone fanbois) a lot of people regard image to be more important than functionality.

This all just occurred to me this morning as I woke up (I really need to stop dreaming of Nexuses... ).

I'm wondering if a soft, online announcement only launch really is in the cards. There are no real earth-shattering stuff with Kit Kat that's been rumored and the device, while we're all looking forward to it, is really just an upgrade from last year's. So the name could really be the story. Makes me think we may hear something this week, even though invites hasn't been passed out and news has been somewhat slow of late....

If logic prevails, I'd venture a guess that Google will be well prepared for the launch this year. If LG is equally well prepared it's likely the debacle of last year will not be repeated. Yet if the demand for the Nexus 5 is as strong as is indicated in the blogosphere, anything is possible. Especially considering that this iteration of Google's smartphone is shaping up to be their most iconic yet.

It is a waiting game at best. Nothing will show up until it does.

I remember the fiasco with VZW releasing the Galaxy Nexus. By the time it FINALLY showed up for sale it was at least 2-3 months "old". Oh well............in today's market these manufacturers should release product as soon as possible or it is considered very last yearish. Surely hope this is not the case with the Nexus 5 :(

The previous nexii had a curved glass covering the screen. The screen itself was not curved.

The display itself is actually curved in these newer devices, which doesn't really excite me

Todays @KitKat tweet is a photo of a KitKat from ET, that was released on the 9th of December 1982...
The tweet doesn't mention AndroidKitKat though... But there's one kitkat bar, what appears to be a "gun sight" where the kitkat meets the kids hand, but maybe that's a zero... eh, who knows. Lots of rumors that something was going to happen today, so we will see.

Hope so too cause' I'm on vacation this week and would be the perfect time to buy it before they run out.

Also apparently seen when the Nexus 5 was briefly seen again was apparently the biggest Nexus 10 leak thus far.

I think the Nexus 10 image is fake. SamsungMobile debunks it here. Looked fake to me from the start. I'm sure it'll be coming soon enough as well though.
