Just wondering if rooted clockwork mod does not support the 4g function. In prefs it just keeps scanning for 4G.
Is there a fix for this ???????????

well clockwork mod is a recovery and it does backup wimax keys when you do a nandroid backup. what rom are you on? you can download wimax rsa key checker from the market and check to see if you have your keys intact.

I have not flashed a rom. I just rooted so I could tether.

I just downloaded the key checker and it states it has found a key, but when I turn on 4g it just scans for a signal. My next door neighbor has an evo 4g which is not rooted and has no problem connecting to 4g

Have you updated your wimax radios to the latest available?

i think a more pertinent ? would be to first establish whether or not you had 4g before rooting the device... you may have a bad 4g radio is why i ask that, or as ocn and andy are implying, your keys might be bad and always had been since ya got the thing... if it ends up being something wrong with the phone, lets hope that you can get it repaired rather than replaced since there isnt yet a viable exploit to root the stock GB rom that the new ones come with. Provide us with a lil more info, and im sure we can get to the ::ahem:: root of this issue ;)

The 4g did work when I got the phone last november. I assumed it was working after unrevoked root. I never checked the 4g application. Then one day I went into settings and noticed it just scanned and would not connect.
I will probably now have to flash a rom.
