Root No Sim/SD problem

Try this ...
go to settings.....wireless and network .....then look for network options

now go to mobile networks press this option and let it scan for networks

when this is done select your network... eg at&t and this should register it to the network

When I go to settings>wireless&networks it wont let me click mobile networks, also idk if this means anything but i cant put it in airplane mode either.
 
Unroot it and take it to the corporate store. Say you can't make phone calls. If it's still under warranty it should cost $10 if they have to replace it. Maybe you'll get lucky and they can fix it on the spot.
 
Maybe u got the card in the wrong way .but take the card out power off the device for about 25 minutes and put card in the right way power back on but when you power on hold the volume up and down and hold the power button til you see that message .
 
Fuzzy I was root and had a custom ROM (forget which one) when my phone was working fine, then I tried to factory reset it , got stuck in CWM then did some update program (ran it from my computer) and it got me unstuck from CWM then this happened (the no service)

Have you since tried re installing the ROM? If not, then that might be your problem.
 
i remember troubleshooting a esteem with a similar issue.

-take the UICCID card out
-boot into recovery
-do a hard reset
-i dont remember if after the hard reset the phone powers on or goes back to recovery, but if you see it booting back on, take the battery out.
-now put the UICCID card back in and boot up
-report back

It was in backwards. ;)

Now he's stuck in a cwm boot loop with no sd card. Least he was last night
 
hi monica, im gonna chime in since this exact thing happened to me. im assuming since your in the esteem forum you have an lg esteem. get an sd card with an adapter to plug it into your computer. from this forum dowload a rom and kernel to the sd card. then take your battery out and put the sim card in. it goes in the little silver place next to your sim card or what ever they call it card. put the battery in. hold down the volume buttons and power it on. as soon as you feel the phone vibrate let go of the power button but not the volume buttons. this will make the phone go to a screen that basically says erase all data. push for yes. after you do this it will reboot into cwm recorery. from cwm recovery wipe data, wipe cache, and wipe dalvik. after doing that go to install zip from sd card and do it. i know you said you dont know which one you had but i started with a black plague rom and kernel and now have #2 from ldrifta. pretty much what you said happened word for word is what happened to me. good luck. :D

His sd card slot on the phone is broken. Sim card issue has already been fixed.

His issue now is he's stuck in cwn boot loop but with a broken sd card slot options are severely limited., When we left off last night i told him to try and downgrade and see if the phone gets seen. That way he'll be able to boot. Without an sd card there really isn't much that can be done.

Haven't heard from him today so i don't know the status.
 
haha. My moms name is Monica when I made the acc I didn't think it would make it my username .. But yeah my name is Robert. Also Fuzzy I had a backup so I got out of the CWM Bootlop and now running #2 smoothly! Thank you all for all the help
