Root [Odin] Clockworkmod Recovery - Not compatible with Rom Manager yet

Awesome work. It took me grand total of 2 minutes to install this recovery. LMAO, if only the optimus m could of had such an easy recovery to install :)

Hi

Thanks for finally providing support or the r720. I am having a little problem though. I would like to format the system directory as it is full and maybe full because it has the previous roms files in there. It certainly shouldnt be full as its a stock rom and there is nothing on there.

There doesnt seem to be the option to format system directory through this version of CWM but i have heard this is available in newer versions. Could you advise if there is a new version we could flash on the r720? or maybe another option to erase the all the files in this partition.

I have read somewhere else that CWM can cause system directory no space problems??

regards

Pedro

So i have the package installed and able to boot into CWM, but I've through hell trying to install a rom because with every rom i get the same result (stuck on logo screen -_-). so with some investigation i realized in other videos the as soon as they boot into CWN the log only states "CWN-Based Recovery v.5.0.2.7" however in my phone when i boot into CWN it says that and 5 others. The others say "E: Can't Mount /cache/recovery.....(cant see the rest)" Im still pretty new at this so i have no idea what it means but i have a good guess that this is why none of the roms have been working for me. HELP ME QUICK! Thank you!

My suggestion would be to flash it again via Odin -make sure you select the correct files over there:)

Thanks for the quick response i will try to re flash. Do have any idea why it happens though?
BTW Welcome to AF:)
The Admire is a particular phone-one missed step and all bets are off. Just take your time-it will be worth your effort:thumbup:

Re-Flashed, but i still get the errors...

I've seen those errors before.
Try this to get rid of it (worked for me).

  • Download Su's 5.0.2.7 CwM recovery.
  • Flash it.
  • Reboot Recovery (advanced menu)
  • Go back to stock via restore (I assume you've made a nanodroid backup in 5.0.2.7?) -- If not, try wiping your data/cache from CWM
  • Re-flash Req's 5.0.2.8 CWM
  • Reboot Recovery

When I was messing around with req's CM7 I ran into this issue I believe when I formatted data/cache from 5.0.2.8. Anyhow, this solved it for me.
Let us know how you make out!

Alright before i move on, I went to make the backup, but at the very end were it said, "Backing up cache..." it then said, "Can't Mount /cache!" and the 5 errors after. Not sure if i should just continue.

Nonono, dont backup anything. You'll have to take a hit on this one (losing your data/cache).

Just follow my above steps, and hopefully it should solve the issue (and if it doesnt, sorry for making you delete your data/cache lol).

hi !
i am new to this about flashing phones and i did all the steps and i have new options when Rebooting Into Recovery, so now do i have to download a custom rom and install it from the recovery mode ?

Hi!
A followed the steps, and I was able to boot into CWM recovery on my Admire. Thanks!
But when I try to do a Nandroid backup, I get the following error message while CWM is backing up the system: "error while making a backup imag". I have 1.7 GB free space on a 2 GB SD card, so I don't think this is the issue.

Any ideas would be highly appreciated. Thanks for your great work!

Yes exactly:thumbup:
You could use an app like https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.siriusapplications.quickboot&hl=en to save your fingers;)

Try reinstalling CWM to see if it corrects it-if not post up and we will go from there:thumbup:

Thanks for the advice. Will try. There is only one thing I am worried about. I would want to to have a full backup so I can restore my phone in case it gets bricked through the process. But exactly this is the function of CWM that does not work for me. It's a catch-22 situation:(
