Market works fire me except for looking at my downloads for updates. I get a server error.

Edit: I an getting the error all the time... This sucks.

My market works however if I click on the menu button on my phone while I'm in the market and then click on "Downloads" I get an error that says "A server error has occurred. Retry, or cancel and return to the previous screen." I'm stuck and need help.

Now I'm getting this too and can't get into the markets home page...but I can search it?

Does anyone else have this problem or is it something as it says with the server that we should just sleep off and wait

Tried factory resetting it?

I used to get this issue on and off with my behold 2, factory resetting it was the only way to resolve it. Maybe clear cache in market might fix it as well, but if that fails factory reset will fix it.

Also, did you all have custom themes, boot screens or root before the update?

Just try and wait until tmrw and see what happens. Mine is working fine so maybe just try and reset it if you need.

It looks like animated GIFs are still not enabled in the browser! I hope this is because it's still a beta leaked release and the final official release in September finally sets the flag which enables animated GIF support in the browser! Seriously, the iPhone has had this for years, and even Blackberries have it in their browsers. What's the holdup, Motorola?? :(

I am having this problem. I am on my Droid X 2.2(no root) and every time I open the market application it gives me a server error, when hit menu and go to "downloads" it also gives me the same server error message. I can search for apps though, but one app does not show up and that is slingplayer. I just got my slingbox today and earlier today I updated to froyo, but now I can not see the app. So I have a couple of general questions:

1)Can anyone find the slingplayer mobile app on their Droid X with 2.2?

2)What other apps are missing/not showing up in the market?

It sounds like a a lot of people are having the same problem so I'm not going to reset anything for a while and see if anyone comes out with a fix.

Tried power off, battery pull, and still no go...I think I'll sleep it off and try again in the morn. Maybe the market is just down in some areas.

I doubt its the 2.2 update. I get the same error on my wife's DInc and my DX (2.1)... market server must be hosed.

Yea I think its better just to leave them all on the phone since you are probably never going to use up 8 gigs of space with apps and photos and vids.

WOW you are correct. I just tried on my behold 2, cause I was on there about 2 hours ago and when I noticed your comment, I tried and yeah... Getting a server error.

What about for the non rooted casual user?

not the best idea for a casual user to mess with the build.prop anyway.
now, i hate those people that say things like. "if you dont know what it is, you shouldnt be trying it," because everyone who does know, had to learn some way. i'm simply saying i wouldnt recommend playing with the build.prop file if you're not sure how do to it/what it does.

There's also QuickOffice installed. I don't remember that one being in 2.1 :P
Crappy Need for Speed Shift makes a come back and needs deleting again as well.
