Yeah...it really is ridiculous today.

Reading through the threads, it is clear that a lot of people making posts asking some questions obviously have not used even a speck of effort in trying to get an answer to their question before making a post. Something like "do I have to be rooted?"...that answer was in the very first instructions.

I hope they move these threads out of the way soon.

had to reinstall the original .604 bloatware apps and reset permissions,. to get the update to roll,

once the update completes on first boot let the phone breath for a while to it can pull all your media to the gallery, etc once that was done I rebooted and the phones getting faster and faster. rockin flash right now, woot!

Any idea on what this means for the "official" official OTA update? Droid-Life and Android Central seem to think it may affect the OTA, but if this is a leak of an official pre-release 2.2 for the X I wonder if that is true?

Non rooted here, no themes, very easy - used PC to copy-paste to SD, rebooted into recovery, executed zip, hid progress, waited about 7 min, rebooted, sat at boot "eye" for a little longer than normal, everything loaded fine. Took a min for phone to speed up and get used to what I just threw at it but 30 min down the road and its much faster, still checking out all the changes.

I asked this in another thread but, FLASH, I went to my own website and simple flash worked fine, BUT do I need to install flash 10.1 from adobe or can anyone tell if it came with 2.2?

it comes pre installed in 2.2

I didn't root before updating to 2.2. Is it too late to root now?

The root process for 2.2 has changed, but it'll be similar to what the 2.1 process, but it has been done.

do I need to install flash 10.1 from adobe or can anyone tell if it came with 2.2?

Flash is already included with this update.

i rooted my droid x and removed some of the bloatware, will this leaked 2.2 update work? i didnt back up the bloatware, so they are gone forever? will this be a problem??

thanks

The bloatware was required for other updates so might be required for 2.2. I'd wait a day and watch for comments on that. OTOH, there is a procedure to restore your phone to stock. http://androidforums.com/all-things...-x-sbf-file-released-now-you-can-unbrick.html

offical is the one verizon releases. this is a leak but we should be good when the ota arrives as long as it has a different build number...

I've only heard that if the leaks version is BELOW or the SAME as the OTA you will not be notified, only if the OTA is a newer version will it update. Which makes perfectly good sense.

I kept root when I updated. Everything is working great. Froze bloatware using Titanium backup.

Also Chrome to Phone is available in the market now and working great!

Certain apps lost root for me like titanium and drocap even after reinstall, but adblock and some others are ok, ... hmmmmm

I hope they take as long as they need to make sure the new release takes care of all the issues users are having. The longer the phone is out and bugs are detected, the better chance they have of fixing them.

They are all working fine for me. Just did a screenshot with drocap just to test it. I have frozen all the bloatware using Titanium, I tested the wireless tether, Root Explorer is still working fine. Everything is working perfect for me.

No I will wait for official I am on my second X and it is working great so I can wait for the official release which will probably have more in it than the leak.

I am loving it. Flash, Louder speaker, cloud to device messaging, chrome to phone. Couldn't be happier.

Oh and I kept root so no bloatware and free wireless tether!!

Anyone running this have problems with Widgetlocker? Having a hard time setting it up because they seem to have gotten rid of the ability to have the passcode without stock unlock screen... Any successes?
