[Official Discussion] Huawei Ascend 2.1 - 2.2 Firmware Upgrade (Info updated as received!)

Backing up everything via TIBU, and gonna check out this update....gonna have to use Gingerbreak, or AndRoot i think to root it again...

They used 1.1 on the optimus c, but I'm guessing the newest would be the best.
 
Hi, can anyone tell me if I need to unroot my phone b/f I do this update?

Installing Gingerbreak 1.2 right now...will test it out and let everyone know how it goes..taking forever to install for something so small. 1.2 will not install, however 1.1 installed fine, and did the trick...woot..now we know how to root this sucker...

Time to put TIBU Pro back on and get rid of all the METRO JUNK! I swear 138mb DL for the Froyo upgrade and half of it is probably Metro Crapware...lol

1.2 works like a charm.
 
just received a software update FOR 2.2 UPGRADE!!! if you have metro, go to the Metro app store and download it, its free. it upgrades you to 2.2 Froyo
 
I have to say, I never thought this day would come. However, I can't believe they won't tell anybody publicly, instead just sneaking it into the Metro app store.....
