there was an option in settings that you could choose the function of the End key....and you can choose it to bring you to home and if you hit it again...it would shut off screen....i dont see the option in settings anymore and it only shuts off screen when your on the lockout screen....if you want to shut your screen off while your actually in your phone..you have to hit the power button now

download it on to your PC from Metropcs.com......unzip it and the move it to your SD card on your phone...then you go into setting, go to the SD card option...then hit update from SD...and just follow it from there.

Download the app 'SPARE PARTS' from the ANDROID MARKET.One of its features is the extended options for "End Button" behavior.
 
i did the 2.2 updrage from the website and i cannot get my time zone to change. is there a app to get in and adjust which zone the phone is in?

Put the phone in "AIRPLANE MODE" then go into SETTINGS>DATE & TIME & make the adjustments. Don't forget to take the phone out of "AIRPLANE MODE" when you're finished.
 
hmmm i thoguht that 2.2 had a2sd automatically set up, but i guess not. is there anyway to do it without formatting and partitioning sd card? i really with i could get pg's zip to work i cannot figure out for the life of me how to get the data to work.
 
for some reason i flashed back to stock and im trying to do the update from the metro market and it says cannot connet to server,please check network availabilty whats wrong with this ???:confused:

You'll have to format & partition the SDcard,so, back up your data from the card before you format,since formatting will erase everything from the card.Of course,if you don't mind losing the data, proceed to formatting/partitioning the SDcard.
 
There any app out there to Change the default status bar at the top? Icon/Color of the battery, wifi, gps, ect, ect....? Seem to have lost my widgets in the pull down too, anyone know a good app for that?

Looking for something like the CM7 has <cyanbread, red remix, ect>

Changed my wife's phone to the new Metro 2.2 that PG cleaned up (THX! it's great) but she really wants to change her battery, signal and wifi indicator colors ect.
 
once ungrared to the official 2.2 from the metro site, i am unable to go back to any saved rom in cmr back up. freezes when restoring cache. also will not let me make a back up in 2.1.5.8 it freeses whenbackin gup cahce. im stuck on stock 2.1 this is driving me nuts. any ideas?
 
i tired pg rom but both of them i dont have data signal, so i did the official one. i really honestly just want cm7 back but i cant even load into it from cmr anymore. when i go to format data factory reset it just sits there at formatting cache. so i dont think i can even flash cm7 back onto my phone.
 
another question..i seem to be getting the stupid quirks.....i had the new streamlined android market on my phone when i upgraded to 2.2...but now it is back to the old 2.1 version of android market.....what did i do?? lol my girlfriends is still the new 2.2 version...but for some reason..mine went back to the old version.. can i fix this?
 
Have you tried using the phone's browser to download CM7 & GAPPS directly from the WIKI PAGE?If you haven't already,get ROM MANAGER from the market(using WI-FI) & install CWM RECOVERY 3.0.0.5 within ROM MANAGER,then,d/l CM7 & GAPPS also via WI-FI.

im about to download the 2.2 from metro app store but before i did i looked on this forum and saw that some peoples phones bricked. im rooted and deleted all the bloatware that the phone came with. do i need to unroot? and do i need the bloatware?
 
Still no love for Cricket Ascenders... I emailed support a few days ago and all I've got so far is the stupid auto-reply.
 
kolio, no i havent but i figured it wouldnt work anyway. since in cmr as soon as you do the factory wipe data reset as it wipes the data and cahce and tires to format data its ok but as soon as it says formatting cache it will sit there all day and not go farther. althought that was through cmr 2.1.5.8. i have not tried doing it through rom manager. also i dont need to download cm7 and gapps as there still saved on my sd card. its just the back ups that were deleted when i deleted cmr. i just dont think i can flash back since i cant even get past data wipe factory reset on 2.1.5.8

Ok, so I downloaded the upgrade, and during verification, it tells me that it failed, and has to shut down... So it forces itself to shut out of the downloaded program, and takes me back to my apps drawer. I tried restarting the phone, and same thing, any ideas?!
 
Have not seen this problem posted yet, so maybe it is just my ascend... I did the 2.2.2 update from metro, and all went smooth as a babies butt, except for one thing, well maybe 2...

First, I can no longer hook my phone to my car stereo via the USB and listen to the music on my SD Card, and my computer will no longer "auto load" when I hook my phone to it using USB... I have to connect by using the phones buttons...

anyone having these issues? I'm more concerned about the car stereo usb issue, and not the computer issue since I can connect to the computer, just not as quick... :)
 
Im happy with CM7 and think I'll just stick with it beings my phone works great. Thanks to everyone involved and this forum. :cool:

just fastboot your phone and install cwm again, the same one you use putting cm7 on your phone.
