[Official Discussion] Huawei Ascend 2.1 - 2.2 Firmware Upgrade (Info updated as received!)

Im pretty sure it is....sounds very easy but for some reason its NOT WORKING..... its My PC is NOT ALLOWING ME ACCESS TO THE SDCARD and at times NOT EVEN SHOWING ON MY PC(WINDOWS7, If that even matters).

its not suppose to show up while you doing this... this process dont require the sdcard, just follow steps and you will see.
 
Thanx..... it moved a little further but its still "stuck" now it says android on my screen.... By the way, do u know how long this "process" is suppose to take?

after you run the metro recovery file you phone should have rebooted and should have been back to 2.1 like when you first bought it.

well now I know for sure.... my phone is sick and on its last leg because it didn't do that..... well it acted like it was all good but then it...... well its just stuck on ANDROID with black back ground
 
what are the steps to update cm7 to latest build, CM7-Ascend-05212011? From your outstanding guide, I was able to install build 05142011. Thanks so much. Do I go through all the steps again, or is there a quicker way?

yes it can once we find away of breaking threw whatever code metro has on there to block us from removing all bloatware like it was with 2.1, with 2.1 since both carriers had it, it made icarus work for which was based off 2.1 eclair.

Been waitin a long time for this to come... And finally installed Froyo 2.2.2 and its working jst fine on my fone. Havent had any problems with it yet.... So far its goin great and its better than 2.1

Is there a way to upgrade froyo 2.2-2.2 via heuawei ascend without a wifi connection? Also, this is my first post. This forum is awesome and very detailed in information. Thanks alot for the help I have had in the past. You guys rock!:D

if you download it from the metro website and extract it to your sdcard, cause with 1x data trying to download that big update, will not work.

Yes I downloaded it via metro market and it just keeps saying I need a wifi connection in order for it to work. I dont have one at home. Oh well, I will wait until later and hit a hot spot.:o
