[Official Discussion] Huawei Ascend 2.1 - 2.2 Firmware Upgrade (Info updated as received!)

Ok, I feel so stupid, or maybe it's because I'm tired, and it's late. But it looks like I need to flash back to stock. I looked at the flash back to stock page, and I am all sorts of confused. Do I need to download the file to the phone, the PC, both? Do I extract the .7z file somewhere, then run the windows.bat file? Thanks for any help anyone can give.

who is your carrier?
 
I did the froyo upgrade and when it finished un-packing, it got stuck on the Huawei screen. Not for ten minutes but for 30, so i pulled the battery. Im pretty sure its bricked and i need the Stock but the link seemed to not work for me. Can anyone help me out?

need to revert back to stock...

reverting back to stock, ok power down the phone and download and extract this to your desktop MetroStockRecovery-SCRIPTS.zip after you done that press and hold vol down, end key and tap power, your phone should be on the white huawei screen and it should stay there, now open the folder that you extracted and run both of these file, first run fastboot-windows you will see a black box come and leave quick, next run metroPCSStock-windows.bat than another black box will pop up and it will do its thing, once it finishes the phone will automatic reboot itself.
 
question....on orginal 2.1...there was an option for the end button to bring you to home page and shut off screen......i dont seem to see that option anymore on 2.2.....am i missing something?

Im having a problem with this......lets see first I get too the white screen and it LOCKS UP... and my phone is showing in the "My Computer" but I cant access any files, so really its not being recognized... only time it does anything is when I hold power off, Volume Up and pwr to but and the update to 2.2 begins then freezes on the wait til froyo screen appears.... and its stays that way until I pull battery.... can someone, anyone help with a situation like this??

the end button on my phone works the only diffrence between 2.1 and 2.2.2 when it comes to the home screen is on the 2.1 you had 1 home screen and 8 extra screens on the 2.2.2 you have 5 home screens

I think one of the reasons they disabled the users ability to shut off the sound for the camera is because of all the perverts out there that use this feature to take pictures up young girls dresses going up escalators and such this should bring pause to there activities. :eek:

yea I have had no problems with this update like I said I updated 26 phones and all work flawlessly :D
 
I Downloaded the NEW 2.2 app and now I cant do anything..... It got stuck on the wait for froyo screen....for about an hour or two, so I removed the battery and pressed power and the same screen came back on and froze again(this time I didnt wait the hour only a half) and took the battery out... put battery back in and this time to I hit the end call, vol up and power and it did the whole loading part 1 of 2 thing then 2 of 2 and completed and restarted phone back to the Huawei screen and froze there... so I took out the battery again...waited then put it back in end call, vol down and power up loading froyo then to the wait for froyo screen then stuck again.... its been alternating between the "wait for froyo screen and the Huawei screenfor 2 days now, needless to say I'm beyond PISSED, Now my question to whoever can help.... is my phone broken? HELP!!!!!

follow the steps above for restoring back to stock, and make sure before flash the new rom you have atleast 50% battery or plug it in on charger.

The question now is how would I get the NEW ROM onto it if when I boot up phone it only gets to the Huawei screen and does NOT allow me access to the SDCARD? should I just throw the phone away or is there still hope?

just follow these step and it will put you back at 2.1, than you can retry putting 2.2 back on there.
