Will the Ascend get the 2.2 update? Also why am i getting double text messages? This is very annoying. It seems to me as if this is a software issue what do you plan to do to fix this problem?

im like watevers with my service, as long as my calls dnt start getting lost or my txts end up sending then theres no problem
 
So hypothetically speaking if we didn't get the update would anyone just do the rom thing or whatever and flash it to 2.2? cuz another post said that cricket knew nothing about getting an update and I wanna wait but at the same time I wanna update

Hi Prodigy! I will have give your hypothetical question a hypothetical answer I'm afraid since everything is pure conjecture at this point, not knowing anything officially. My gut feeling is that those who like to mod their phones will do so no matter what happens, official 2.2 or no. There will always be custom roms. Those who feel comfortable and safe using them will and those who don't won't. I do know that there are some highly technical users who are having difficulty with the bootleg 2.2 at this time so I would warn everyone to use caution when attempting it unless you know someone who can help guide you out of any probs you get into. I know what you mean about wanting to update. I want to as well but I'm following my instincts here. Something is telling me to wait...and I'm listening. Hope that helps somewhat. :)

I have tried this ROM and with the exception of MMS it does work great. I did, however, find it lacking in 2 respects- flash player would not install, and pinch and zoom still doesn't seem to work... when (or if) an official update to 2.2 is released, can we expect these features to work on the Ascend?

The mms should most definitely work on the official 2.2 release, but this phone was not built to support flashplayer or pinch and zoom. You will have to wait for another phone to get that.

No update or custom rom will make a difference there. Glad your version of 2.2 is working for you. :)

Sorry gonna be a little hard to repost the email from my phone as im without a computer at the moment. My email is crowheart27us@gmail.com and i would be happy to forward it on to anyone who would like to see it. Then one of you could post it here. Im really excited though, been waiting for a bit on this. Im currently running on metropcs and they didnt know anything about this or was keeping it secret for some reason. I actually got the responce from huawei usa customer service. But again ill be happy to forward it on.
 
I too would like to see that email if someone posts it. I've been silently following this thread on my Ascend. I have to say that Jazziette and everyone else has made it an entertaining read.

Yeah, then when you send a text to someone, they would recieve a tracking number that they can look up to see when they are going to get their text message. When the message finally does arrive the text will be broken and misspelled. :D

Actually it is true. Sorry but i have better things to do than pick a random forum and raise and dash hopes. Ive just forwarded the email i received and hopefully one of the two will post it for you to see.
