That wouldn't surprise me. This is a very smooth launch, compared to most recent Bethesda games
yeah but the bugs in this release make me 'RAGE' just as much ;-) .
I sorted the CTDs with the 4GB patch. But still the game hangs on the loading screens time to time meaning i have to reboot the game.
Bethesda , making great games ,terribly.
Still torn... want this game but not sure what system to get it on. The visuals/total package on PS3 is generally better though I love my 360 more because of a superior achievement system (IMO)
My PC can handle anything i throw at it but I perfer console controllers.....

You might want to look into whether your xbox controller can be plugged into PC and/or is supported. I feel like I have heard people doing that.
But yeah ultimately it's all about a comfortable mouse. You don't NEED a fancy gaming mouse like a Razor or some such (unless you play competitive MW3 or StarCraft or something). Just something that feels good in your hand.
I've been using this for years, though I'm thinking of finally switching to something else soonish, but it's been great for a long time.
You might want to also consider playing with the mouse acceleration settings until they feel right for you. Some people disable this altogether, others just make it less pronounced (you can just edit the .ini files to change it)

never messed with mouse settings in that way. just like the traditional controller is all, and yes there is a 360 controller they sell for PC but it isn't the same, lol.

I wonder if you can plug in the controller via USB and it would work. I'd recommend it for pc based on mods alone, and the fact that you get mods 
And you're a mod, so that makes sense right?
I have it for the 360, no issues, except the one I posted a ways back. I'm unsure if the PS3 patch will actually fix the issues those users are having.

Really?!?! I'd rather get achievements on 360 anyway. And love my PC but its screen is 24" my tv's are 51 and 42 so..... console wins... for now

I dont usually pay attention to achievements but it can be a good indicator that you have explored all of the game's content fully

Some achievements are incentive, for me at least, to do things I normally would not try or mess with.

I concur, most of the things in the achievements I would never have bothered with or thought of, then there are the stupid achievements in games , like "finish the into" or"finish chapters 1-however many" only useful when done like halo does it, where the achievement shows the difficulty you completed it on.

Some achievements reveal easter eggs that I probably would not find otherwise, which is just a fun little thing. I could give a crap less how high my gamer score is.

I thought the tweet by @PC_Gamer kinda nailed it:
"Skyrim will get an update next week to fix patch 1.2 problems."
I've not had a problem with it, but apparently it screwed up a few things, such as dragons flying backwards.

Well the thing is, the patch did not even address some of the bugs I have been encountering, so that patch is just fixing what the other one messed up.
Same here - my Thieves guild questline is still borked.

the update didn't really do much for me, it did improve frame rates but it only lasts for like an hour or two at a time. when I play I usually am going at it for 5+ hours. and now i'm also getting a lot of graphics glitches, textures not showing or going into other planes(ex: i was fighting and he landed on a houses roof, the textures of the roof merged with the dragon a bit and cause some screen tearing ) overall i'm not impressed with the patch, hopefully the next one fixes more than this one.

I'm still confused by the menu key change but I think I like it better, otherwise things seem pretty good.

one thing I've learned from playing The entire elder scrolls series, is that you just have to wait for the PC mod community to fix everything. once they do it, and don't screw it up any way, then Bethesda will incorporate their work into a patch or game mod to fix things. most quest problems and text/speech issues are resolved by the modding community and not Bethesda. This is why I have bought all of their games on PC, and only rented the Xbox versions. I do prefer using a controller though, as I normally play my PC games on my laptop, so I can play while travelling.
for those on PC, start hunting mods to fix the issues you are having, and those on console, might want to wait for the GOTY edition...
In 12-18 months most of the issues will be resolved. There is just too much content to fix it before/during/immediately after launch, Also, just because it is an obvious issue and was not patched before launch does not mean they are unaware, or not even working on it. some things take priority over others and somethings just don't make it in time for the master Disc to be made. games are finalized a really good bit before the launch date, there is a lot that goes into producing a game after the hard work is done and before the discs hit the shelves. During that time the team is still working on fixing issues. And graphical glitches often require redesigning multiple models with a higher number of polygons, which is part of the main game package, which means they have a 500MB+ patch to fix 1 house that a dragon can fly into, or to fix 1 creature who's tail always goes through the ground when it swishes back and forth. They also have to consider bandwidth issues for transferring the patch to the users, how to get it on the consoles, and many other considerations. Just because it is an obvious issue doesn't mean their boss will even let them fix it! Then again, everyone at BethSoft could be super cool and let the design teams fix what they feel is important and once they have enough goodness they release a patch... You'd have to ask them how they do it.
(my information used to write the above comes from having worked for an online video game media company a while back, where I met many executives and designers from over 100 companies and got to sit down and interview many of them for 10-30 once or twice a year. You'd be surprised how little "fun time" one has at trade shows like E3 when your entire day is scheduled appointments to interview design teams and executives. I had tons of fun, don't get me wrong, met lots of great people, and one douche that worked for Blizzard on Diablo II, he was a programmer and the biggest prick I've ever met. Since I mentioned him, I'll say the CEO of Harmon Kardon that same year was the nicest guy I met and that is a tough spot to get, he actually thought it was cool that we wanted to talk to him! (Kaz Hirari is pretty cool, Steve Balmer seemed like he felt he was wasting his time saying hi to us, but did it nicely! I did actually spend time talking to them in a 2 or 3 on one situation with other people from my company, just not a lot of time). Just putting this info here to show I have a third of a clue on what I am talking about and that I know that everyone does do things a bit differently so I may or may not even be close, but there are a lot of things that go into getting a game out the door, and it is sometimes harder to release a patch than to "just edit some text and upload it somewhere".)

I get so much input lag at times that it's frickin unbearable.
