Anyone have any experience w/ EVP, mainly with pre-orders? I know that they're a third-party company that handles discounts. It seems that they're taking pre-orders.

HTC Evo 4G Pre-Order info Leaks - PPCGeeks

The source for that is Ozcar dammit. Look before you post.

I don't want to seem like a jerk, but a lot of us here are tired of seeing information from Ozcar posted as any sort of credible source.

If you however, want to make fun of them, that's perfectly fine =P

I did and stand behind it. I know if I am wrong then that is okay. I know from what I seen/herd Radio Shack has first dibs.(May 21st) That was information seen on May 6th. If am wrong, then you got my sincere apologies.I don't know all nor have I seen all. I am just doing my part to put it out there as I personally witness it.

No disrespect.

Uhm, you do see that I'm asking about BEST BUY correct? Man i think it might be pass out time for you :p

lol bluescreen... honestly i don't know who to trust anymore...
i think i'll trust those 3 people confirming presales @ BB rather than you. this is not a personal attack but u have not been correct either in the leaks.

why trust what peeps say? just take with a grain of salt! come tomorrow, just call your local (or somewhat local :P) best buy! and come later this week or next week call radio shack and see what they're doing!

there ya go.

Well, Bluescreen, I appreciate the fact that you're not overly pushing your info (whether it be real or not), the most annoying thing I've seen on this forum is when someone passes something as fact and remains adamant about it and basically tries to bully people into believing it.

Keep posting the info, just don't mind a bit of healthy skepticism from us. For what it's worth, I believe what you've said, partly because it would be most convenient for me too :)

I've never preordered a phone, so I have a quick question: I'm already on Sprint, and I'm only eligible for a $75 discount since im only a little over a year into my existing 2 year contract (so I would have to pay $450-75 = $375), will I be able to preorder the phone or are preorders only for new Sprint customers???

If BB is doing pre orders tomorrow, i'll be down there first thing in the morning. I just have to be frank with everyone, I have not herd boo about it. I'll be down there tomorrow at opening to talk with the BB guy in the cell phone department. I think it is a win=win here if they are taking pre orders this early

Side note, I hope my fellow readers continue to call out the false "insiders" who preach things strongly as fact so I and other readers can be sure to ignore them in the future. I can't wait till the phone is actually out so we can't stop with all the speculations and start talking about use of the actual phone, mods, apps, etc.

I think from now on I will be better off asking you for info or asking polkadots what places she is getting tingles to get real factual information. I am sure you two will keep it real and let me know if you are serious or just mixing it up. :D

Dudes. get off the best buy train. I mean you people drive me crazy with this.

Okay, I will tell you here. Best Buy is not in the bidding for pre orders..Period.

1) There was a auction and Best Buy lost

2) Radio Shack has already sent Sprint the check, they got the rights..

3) Once again, May 21st Radio Shack will take pre orders in person

4) On May 29th people who pre ordered will have to go in person back
to the same store and pick up there EVO.

5) This was all setup to allow for Sprint to see the demand for customers
and if May 21st is crazy? Sprint will pay an expedite fee to HTC to
increase output to meet consumer demand on June 4th
Your killing with this Best Buy stuff, it's crap..

I will simply say, once again..I was there, saw the deal signed..it's done. I watched the Best Buys CFO go to rich for my blood and Radio Shack CTO put ink to paper.

So stop the madness. It will be as it sits today, Radio Shack. Friday May 21st. I will be there at the crack of dawn, and eagerly waiting inline with all of you. I built out the 4G code for this phone. I am not getting any special favors..

Peeps that don't know read my previous post's.

i hope this is true. if it is, i have 2 questions for you (if you're familiar with how Radio Shack does preorders/selling phones in general) :

1) does radio shack waive the mail in rebate thing like best buy does?
2) do they take into account your credit?

thanks BS!

Haha. My bad. I meant the link a couple of posts down from the guy's EVP rep. It contains a link to "pre-order" the phone through EVP.

Anyone else get this... i've been off for a min

but if BB is taking preorders and handing out the EVO's on the 4th, and RS is taking preorders and having out the EVO's may 29th, that makes MY decision pretty easy.....

Absolutely right...If RS is releasing it to the pre-ordered customers on the 29th, that's who I'm going with. The only thing we have to find out is if Shack will actually do this.

I went into Radio Shack on Monday (May 10th) and was told by a Radio Shack manager (Nice suit) to comeback on May 21st they (he) is going to be taking pre orders then

1) Radio Shack does wave all MIR's and upfront cost was going to be $199 no questions asked, as per what was released today.
2) With respect to credit they do check. My credit sucks and he told me I could have up to 5 lines.

Hope that helps,

Bit disappointed regarding the whole $10 charge. Real shady to apply that on everyone, even those who won't even see 4g anytime soon.

Too bad the ny 4g was not turned on today. Hopefully its soon.

A few posts back someone mentioned how good the hd quality was on the evo 4g cam. Is there a video? I can't seem to find anything on it.

Also is there a way to have one person on a family plan with the data and all the goodies and the other person to just have the basics?

When you preorder at RS, do you have to put down the entire price of the phone or just a deposit?

Yes you can... the 10.00 per line applies to evo only.. and gives you uncapped 3g or 4g .. which ever applies to you.. it is not capped at 5gb as it is now with 3g. if you market is not upgraded yet.. you will have unlimited 3G data until 4 g is available and same for 4g

199 for 2 year! But who said RS is taking pre orders on the 29th? I guess I'll call mine tomorrow. Today they new nothing and my BB kept telling me June 13th. When can you preorder from Telesales?

solution for you? Go elsewhere. evo is not for you. you have to pay to play.

I have an upgrade currently available on another line on my account, could I buy the phone then put the phone on my line since there is no rebates?
