I am but for a person who is coming from the Iphone as far the O/S goes there is going to be some major getting used to going on.
Not to say the iphone was perfect I ended up jailbreaking it to add some apps I wanted (not the easy snow broke but not the hardest) Its not that I don't think I can't get used to it's more of the streamlined look that I am longing for.
I'm one of those guys who has 3 desktop shortcuts on any of my computers and 3 pages on the iphone
Alas why can't I have it all?!

Just because they are alloting 30 minutes between appointments doesn't mean every apointment is going to last 30 minutes. Each appointment will be different. Some customers will be new to Sprint, new to Android, even new to smartphones. These people will use much more of the 30 minutes than someone who's already with Sprint and who's last phone was an Android smartphone. I think they're building in an appointment "safety factor" figuring the absoute most any one customer would need is 30 minutes.

I would guess some of you will be in & out in 10 minutes or less.

You know, I was just thinking if Sprint had just folded the $10 EVO fee into the "everything" plans, I don't think anybody would have said anything. They would have just figured that was the price thay had to pay to have the best smartphone that Sprint had to offer.

Patiently/Impatiently waiting for the release of the EVO 4G.
 
Hmmm... Contacted Radio Shack to see if the store was going to open up early on friday. The rep told me they will open up at 6am. Has anybody else hear anything about this?

Haha.. Don't want to be up at radio shack at 6 when they don't open up until 9.

I mean if they do open up at 6 I would not have to worrie about being late for work.

It isn't that difficult. I would believe you would have a better chance at taking your time and watching a YouTube vid then have a Best Buy rep that is probably looking to get you outta there, rush through it. I've mentioned this a few posts earlier, my friend decided to go ahead ad buy the Zagg skin and have the BB people install it, first of all it didn't sit completely right and lastly, because they rushed it and he didn't let it dry not did they warn him about it and it began to peel sooner than I recall mine ever doing so. My $0.02

Edit**** as to not double post... A thought occurred to me, now I'm sure the rest of you have already thought of this and I was going to share this yesterday; however work and kids and school got in the way and well here it goes... For those of us buy our EVO (God Device) from BB we shouldn't have to be forced to purchase any accessories from there. I called to my local sprint store to confirm a 25% discount we are entitled to for being premiere customers... in other words, it's the Sprint store for me. Hey, I'm buy the accessories anyways... might as well get a discount!
 
Yeah I've had that experience too with them rushing through applying a protector. I might just have them spend my 30 minute appointment doing it right and they can skip all the other BS.
 
Will I be able to purchase an unopened Evo from RS/BB, then take it home and activate it through Sprint's website? Are there any major drawbacks to doing this?
 
I'm feeling pretty great about EVO's Premium Data plan now that I have seen the article on Endgadget about AT&T's new data plan rates.

I didn't realize they already paid $30 for a fair use "unlimited" smartphone data plan. They will now have the option to instead pay $15/month for a 200MB cap or $25/month for a 2GB cap (exceeding the caps will result in addtional charges).

As for tethering a device - "Tethering will be offered as an add-on to the DataPro plan for an additional $20 per month, which means you'll pay a total of $45 a month for 2GB of data shared between your phone and your tethered devices."

Sprint's looks to be a big winner again!

I just submitted for a separate thread on this. Evo and Sprint are going to win big every time something like this comes out. Oh and BTW, Evo's will sell out at launch and I now think there will be at least 1 million sold in the first 60 days (assuming supplies hold up).
 
Has anyone else confirmed their BB will be giving these Plantronics earpiece away? IS there any documented proof this is going down? I just wanted something to show my BB on friday when they claim ignorance.

All I can say is I have spoken to two different BB's in my area (just in case on ran out, proff of purchase via receipt means I can go to the next) and they both confirmed. I'm in Crystal Lake, IL....

Speaking of my area... I'm going to cancel my Comcast interweb's service and I'm planing to go with Clear. I figure since they are owned by sprint and if I have 4G in the house I can essentially kill two bird with one stone. My question is, has anyone had any experiances with Clear.... esspecially in the Chicago area... Let me know ASAP please! Thanks!

All I have is verbal confirmation from the BB rep that called me to schedule my appt. (I'm in Des Moines, Iowa, BTW). She verified that they will have the Plantronics BT earpiece for all who preordered. She was pushing accessories hard too...but, no HDMI dock or black/grey Body Glove case at launch, which is what I really wanted. :mad: Oh well...hope the Sprint store has them, so I can use my 25% Premiere discount.
 
Just got off the phone with my Sprint rep, he told me to be at the store at 0600 even though they dont open till 0800 which is actually an hour earlier than normal opening (0900) and he will have my 2 EVO's ready to go. He also told me he would text me at 0530 to wake me up. I told him that wasn't really needed due to the fact I probably won't be able to sleep very well on Thursday nite.....Anticipation....I told him i would bring the Bloody Mary's, with that he said he would get me a couple of car chargers.
I'm sure I will be buying some other things as well onceIi see what they have in stock.
So now I am really looking forward to Friday, I will have plenty of time to play with it before i go back to work on the 11th and show off my new toy.

I've bought from that site in the past. Delivery is kinda slow but I've received what I bought both times.

This is a good point, but hopefully with the info my BB has given me they won't be having "attention" issues. They informed me they were going to have additional "work stations" setup to accomodate more rep's and then a seating area for customers. SO here's to hoping they have dedicated reps for just activating/setup Evo's

A safety factor is probably a great idea (assuming that is the "explanation"). I have a feeling as the day gets moving, it's going to be a MAD-HOUSE inside BB! So I'm hoping with the 2nd appt, I'll be in and out before too much mayhem starts stirring LOL

I too only have "word of mouth" from my local BB...Springfield, MO! I would rest assured it is a nationwide decision, and if they dispute it for some odd reason (AFTER THEY CHECK THEIR EMAIL) I'd speak with a manager so he can get in touch with another store or something. Anyway to my knowledge they are not only giving away the Plantronics 230 (I believe) but also offering something like a 20% discount on accessories for preorders/Evo buyers (so I've heard).
