So I am setup on the Rezound. Downloaded the phandroid app :)


Added my work email and 2 other accounts. I AM IN THE FASTLANE. 10Gigs of data on my account. Cue the Eagles.

I did the same thing and I am going to just to an exchange at my local corporate store so that I can make sure there is a 0% chance that I lose my double data plan by switching back to a 3g phone.
 
Android Rookie Question:


Does anyone know if the HD version of Netflix will be available for the Galaxy Nexus? Would you have to root it to get this feature?

The Oleophobic one (the cheaper of the two) is a matte finish, so just know that this will blur and darken the screen somewhat. On the other one (the Flex), hopefully someone can chime in

That's a good call, the double data is for LTE only. You will lose it if you switch back to 3G phone.

I am happy to tell everyone that all final testing has been concluded. All bugs (with the exception of one very minor bug that 99% of you will never see) have been resolved and passed quality check. December 8th has been officially set as launch date (internally for now) and there are no further plans for any delays. I cannot talk about preorders however and please do not consider this at all an official announcement until Verizon says so but I hope many of you will find this helpful in your decision making.

Why are you guys thanking him? Yesterday he said "before the 13th" and "final stages of testing"... today it is "testing is over" and "the 8th".

He is just regurgitating what everyone else is saying. Notice that he has not nor will not give any information about anything that we don't know. He is just one those great "gut" people.
 
So does anyone else still find it strange that VZW would release the nexus and the droid4 on the same day? Is there a precedent for this? I thought the razr and rezound being launched so close was bad enough, but two major phones released on the same day? Perhaps they pushed the droid4 to 12/15 to make room for the nexus? I imagine it is in their best interest to have both phones out before Christmas, but to launch them simultaneously? Something doesn't add up!
 
hey all...I was too busy with work today to catch up with the forum today. I saw possible sale for BB starting Dec. 11. Is there anything else? More confirmation for the 8th? Info for pre order? I would really appreciate an update. Thanks!!!

Physical keyboard people and Nexus people are typically very different and very different demographics. It may not be an issue for them. Also, the D4 could likely be delayed like every other phone VZW puts out. VZW has not officially announced a release for that either.

I can see it. Each phone appeals to a different kind of user.

Both good points. I guess the rezound and razr are more competition for each other than the nexus and droid4 are. I just hope if they did push one or the other for some reason to avoid the simultaneous launch that they picked the droid4 :p

The Nexus and D4 are not direct competitors. Yes, they're both smartphones, but they're aimed at different customers.

Honestly it's been all over the place. (hard to believe I know) There is a strong sense that a possible preorder or release will be the 8th or the 12th.

unlimited lasts as long as you keep a smartphone activated on your plan. changing phones will not affect it.
