If it doesn't drop this week, I'm seriously considering holding off and going for the TP. My Dinc2 is very serviceable for the time being. I no longer need a phone, and it appears that Verizon doesn't need my money, so. . . .
 
On what Steven got out of Tiffany the CSR: I knew it. If this turns out to be true, all I can say is I knew it. This thing will constantly be pushed back until it's guaranteed to not interfere with the RAZR's holiday sales. Just wait until next week when it's pushed back again to after xmas. This is fun isn't it? :(

I'd say thinnest of rumors is overstating a tad. There were two separate screenshot leaks with dec. 8th listed. We haven't seen any other leaks to indicate otherwise yet.

Could they be fake? Sure. Is it possible the plans have changed? Quite possibly.

But we haven't heard anything besides word of mouth to say otherwise, and those "word of mouth" rumors seem to be vague and inconsistent.

It may be recycled blog BS, but that really WAS a strange answer. Reason I say this: phonescoop is the exact same site I was referred to by an in-store Verizon corporate rep here in State College, PA....weird! Is there some sort of connection?

I think this just means, this CSR gets his rumors from phonescoop.com instead of phandroid or AF

Not to throw gas on the fire, but there have been rumors of it getting pushed back to January to boost VZW's Q1 2012 sales.

So what is the harm in politely asking a Verizon employee when the phone is coming out. Especially the online chats, I have NEVER had to wait on hold for one of those, so I don't think anyone else trying to online chat is being delayed by our attempts.

I'm not 100% against doing it if it was in the least beneficial. But how many times can we be told they don't know something or that the date is the 8th, no the 9th...oh wait pre-order next week. I think we have established on more than one occasion that they really don't know anything. I think it's starting to be counter productive. ~ and yes we all need some sort of help :)

There have also been screenshots of the 17th. Some MAP lists recently being circulated as new actually still show it as coming out on 11/10!

Screenshots are worthless, unfortunately.


I'm still hopeful for a release this week. But it's 50/50.

I believe that the store reps are saying this Thursday or Friday based on the regional priority meeting that they are having online on Thursday morning. But it's still a guess.
 
This may or may not be of significance, but that friend I've mentioned a few times who works for a VZW corporate store let me know that he was able to order a GNex for his business line through their internal system. He's not exactly sure when he'll get it (he thinks it'll be this week), but he told me that the fact he could order it is a really good sign.
 
My only experience with CSR at VZW was when my sister needed a micro SIM for her Stratosphere as a regular SIM was shipped with it, and 3 CSRs had no idea what micro SIM was. So yeah, I wouldn't trust the majority of CSRs..
 
As you may remember, I contacted a CSR Friday night for account purposes and of course finished my conversation with a question about the release date and the VERY KIND Rep said in a laughing voice that he's lucky if he knows THREE DAYS AFTER the release date that the phone is out. He was a really nice older gentlemen and I appreciated his help, humor and honesty.
