Wow so this is really it...official I've been working since this afternoon at 4:30ish & I got a sms from the local corp store. Bitter sweet, but leaning a little more on the sweet side :D

What time has been decided on when this thread closes?

EDIT: Seeing all the farewell posts is the thread ending tonight :eek:

Discounted pricing is 299. Loyalty discount is another 30-50 off.

Well, guys, I think it's time for me to make my farewell post :)

It's been a hell of a ride. From a lurker in August, to a Nexus enthusiast, to an all-out Nexaholic in the top 20 posters in the thread, this thread has been quite the experience. Thanks all. I feel like I've made some good friends here, and I hope we'll all stick around.

Thanks especially for all the support for my Hitler video when times were looking grim, and to Steven, Early, and OTD for the best job moderating a thread that I've ever seen. Thanks to Han (and Hanetta/Cheetara), BabyBlues, and of course, our guides, The_Chief and nj02vette!

Finally, thanks everyone else for making this the most epic thread on the internet! I'm so glad we're finally at the end of the road. I'll have to fight the habit to click this bookmark first thing in the morning every day.

See you on the flip side, everyone. I hope I helped your guys' wait for this phone, because you guys certainly made mine that much more bearable.

I guess I should say my farewell as well. It was a really great experience following this thread. All 110+ posts of mine are in this thread and I lurked for a while before joining. You all really have been a great community and it's a bit sad but I really feel like I made friends here with all of the ups, downs and different emotions we experienced together. I wish you all the best and hope you will meet on the new release thread at least for a while.

Most of all THANK YOU HAN AND STEVEN FOR EVERYTHING....the information, the feedback, really it was one great ride....

Let's beam sometime! ;-)

There was a note from CSR stating that I was eligible, though they had not heard of it. They tried to process another 4G phone through as an upgrade to see what would happen. They're computer said I wasn't "tagged", meaning not eligible for that upgrade, despite note from CSR. The manager read from the screen and it said something to the effect of " CSR shall not overwrite promotions and add to account that aren't automatically eligible". I very nicely went back and forth with manager and salesman, but in the end there was no way I was getting the promo. Thought you all should be given a heads up for when you go to order and discount is not available. Its bittersweet, happy yet pissed. BTW: all batteries are 1/2 off till Dec 31st. Gnex extended battery is $25. I don't know if any of this has been mentioned, just got home.

WOW..that's great to know about batteries being half priced...definitely makes me want to get that extended battery since from what I've read and seen, it doesn't make the phone bulkier.

Wow, it's hard to believe it's all really coming to a close, especially after all the false alarms. I was more of a lurker than an active contributor, but it's been a great ride, laughing and crying along with everyone. Many thanks to the mods and guides who helped keep us all on track even when tempers flared, and to the various sources who kept us a little less in the dark. And of course to all the posters who helped turn this thread from just a bunch of people on the internet who want a phone into a real community!

It's a bittersweet moment, but I bet it'll feel a little better tomorrow when we've all got our phones in hand ;)
 
Ok so I'm backing up my photos to dropbox.
GoSMS automatically backs up texts correct?
I'm not worried about downloaded files from email since that's all in gmail, like my contacts...Same goes for apps.
Anything I'm forgetting?
 
I already pay a $160 family plan per month (well I don't) so adding a $300 phone onto would be like adding a drop of water to an ocean right?
