All right, I had to come out of my self-imposed exile after all of this nonsense. (Note to Droidette: When I announced my departure, you thanked me. Don't know how to take that, exactly. :p)

DUDE! There is no "Amen, brotha" button to push, I was affirming your frustration! Hey who else could do the Kessel Run like you do :) Glad you're back.

I agree about the craptastic phones on VZW. Sprint has some pretty good phones but they don't have 4G in Southeast Michigan yet and I'm not paying the $10 fee per phone for something I can't use. They're service isn't as good as VZW either. I'll probably never leave VZW because my wife gets a 24% discount through work. All I can do is hope they come out with some better phones.

I love my Droid X (running CM7) but I was really disappointed with the Bionic. Not worth the upgrade IMHO. Thunderbolt sucks and the Charge didn't do it for me either. Waiting for the Prime because I have an upgrade that's burning a hole in my pocket!

After reading everything over the past few days, I am thinking that this is sucking large donkey gonads. I have a local carrier, Cellular South, which is one of the biggest regional carriers in the country. They have an awesome network and great customer service. They also have an all you can eat data/voice/text for 79.99 a month. But I left them for Verizon because their phone selection was horrid. They would get phones that Verizon/Sprint got 6-12 months later. They are CDMA. I got fed up with having an outdated crap phone and went to Verizon because I wanted the latest and the greatest hardware. Well it looks like it is biting me in the arse again... Oh the irony. I currently have a DX that is extremely laggy. I don't root because I can't afford to have a messed up phone due to it being the only communications device I own. Yes I am scared to brick it and need my warranty. Anyway I too was waiting on the bionic as I have had the OG Droid and now the DX. I like moto phones as the phone part WORKS. That, for me, is the priority. But the more I read about the nexus, the more I became enamored with the device. I had dreams of a pure google phone with no bloat like all the previous nexus devices before. Hardware specs to last me for 2 years and not be too jealous of anything coming out before the end of that that period.... Now I am left wondering. I am still hopeful but when I see some of you who have been even more avid in following this device become more and more discontent with what you feel is coming out...I too am in a state of worry. At least my rant will get great laughs at the VZ offices since they read this...

Doesn't anybody but me find it funny that if VZ-wired is who he says he is that they are laughing at us saying how bad their phones are and how much bs bloatware they put on their phone? Doesn't that just prove how much they just don't get it or don't care?

I'm getting lost in 28 pages of stuff, so let me get this straight (and for the benefit of new folks just joining in):

"Galaxy Nexus" and "Droid Prime" (or whatever they're gonna be called) are two discrete devices; one launching November 3rd and one on November 17th. One will be crap compared to Vigor, and the other will make us "very happy". But we don't know which is which yet, or what is what.

We KNOW they're not Stratosphere, iPhone or Vigor... so now we're down to waiting on one of TWO phones to set us up for 2 years spec-wise, but neither has made it to FCC yet so we are waiting on something but we don't know what.

Does that about cover it?

Or just a person who doesn't have control over that sort of thing. o-o

Even so, they should feel ashamed at how their company is operating.

Around here, in the Washington DC area, verizon is known as the PEPCO of phone services.

Pepco is an electrical power company that's so big and powerful that it takes government intervention for them to make right any wrongs that they may have done. They are also known to screw their customers and roll over on them every chance they get.

Verizon isn't the only phone company we can get here BUT they are the only one that works each and every time you need it to and Verizon knows it.

The guy is probably trying to provide for himself and/or family. It is hard to find a job, I doubt he wants to rock the cradle to make some people on a message board happy when the repercussions could be a lot more damaging to him.

Very good point, Cahill. We have to be mindful of the real life that these people lead and that severely limits what they can tell us. I guess we take what we can get at this point :)

This is exactly why I doubt who he says he is.

Now that we have all your colleagues attention. Why don't you all follow Sprints, T-Mo's and AT&T's lead and carry ALL the cutting edge equipment? You guys are constantly behind the tech curve. We get all the Android scraps and watch ALL the good equipment go elsewhere.

The minute the other carriers get their acts together and build out a great network. People WILL leave Verizon for better equipment. The ONLY thing that keeps a lot of us with you is the network. Thats it. Once the playing field is level, and it will be, a lot of us will leave because of your failure to provide the latest and greatest equipment.

Since you passed up the SGSII all of us are expecting something stellar. A simple refresh of an existing phone will not cut it.

I don't want to leave on a negative note so I will say that Verizon's customer service is second to none. This is a fact. Phenomenal customer service! :)

If you ask me it's all because you guys got the iphone. .that has been the most wanted device, and since VZW got it, they feel that they completed your needs.

I hate when carriers pass on devices, and when devices aren't made for certain carriers. .JUST MAKE IT FOR ALL ! ! ! . . UNIVERSAL ! ! !

I completely agree and have always liked the cellphone structure they have in europe. Any phone working on any carrier...

you guys keep calling vz_wired a "HE". . I just wanted to say that I think it's a "SHE". . that's just me though, you do as you please.

just wanted to get that out the way lol

^^I love that synopsis, perfect. In other words, we don't konw jack...which is indeed the case.

Wow! The negativity! What on earth are some of you going to complain about next if VZW makes good on their promise to deliver a great phone? It's possible you know. In fact, I contend that some great phones have been released from them in the past. Lighten up Francis! :-p

Pretty much, yes. Although, do we have any solid specs on either of these devices. I mean, we were all stoked about the SGS2 because we knew all the specs (and they were SPECtacular nyuk nyuk). I'd feel a little more comfortable with the wait if I knew exactly what it was I was waiting for.
