That is one way to look at it. But if someone is already a customer, and doesn't use even 300MB per month (like my wife), then they will end up losing profit to the people that switch to the cheaper plan.
 
I may just have to sign up for the $50/10gb plan now then. But I thought it was unclear as to whether that would drop back down to 5gb after the promotional period ended, or if it would stay in contract forever (until it was changed by the customer). Basically if I bought this I would want to be grandfathered into it like unlimited data users are.

Every day the term "bioniced" creeps into my thinking about the gnex. I hope that is not the case but with no release date and other phones dropping I'm not sure what else to think.

Yeah you should be grandfather as long as you keep it active, even when changing phones and renewing contracts

Agreed. I'm all for the lower data options but at least adjust the price with some degree of relativity. The data prices are wayyy over inflated anyways.

Yeah, and they are making a killing. At least VZW is spending it to build out their LTE network, and with a quickness. Something good for us (I get mine in 10 days!)

4g is awesome (when it works)!!! Here's hoping the SGN's radio is top notch and that it gets killer reception. Nothing sucks more than knowing you should be running 4g but the darn phone won't cooperate. I have to stay on wifi the majority of the time because of this.

wouldnt your wifi conserve battery and be faster anyways? i mean at home i get regularly 20mbs down on my wifi connection is the LTE consistently faster then that?

I worked at Best Buy for 5 Black Friday rushes. They where a lot of fun. I could see Verizon not having it out by then. Usually stuff that has been out for a long time gets marked down and items that have a strong appeal to customers get thrown on the list with very limited quantities. Not to many times does something brand new get thrown into their big sales event. I don't know specifically for phones but just from what I saw in the other departments. No one usually goes into a department to ask questions about items just give me one of those and they are gone looking for the next deal.

You're right on the battery conservation, but my wifi usually only gets me around 9mbs down and 1-2mbs up. So I would like to stay on 4g even at home but its just not possible. On LTE though I get around 15mbs down.

Edit: I guess in your case wifi might be preferable

My first black friday experience was at a best buy with my dad about 8 years ago. It was crazy, the store was brand new and I guess no one knew how to do a black friday sale, it was a disaster. I think over a dozen people were arrested due to a fight as there were no lines cordoned off, and a bunch of people came up about 10 minutes before the store opened and stood in front of the doors clearly intending to cut, while the line wrapped around the building. store ended up opening 20 minutes late, because the manager refused to open the doors to subject his employees to the melee outside.

Another reason why ordering off the Internet sounds great to me. I'm too old for that mess...and I'm not really that old.

That reminds me, I have to work on Black Friday :( I normally hide in my house to stay away from the ABSOLUTELY INSANE DRIVERS...

Guess I'll be going in a 6 am, hopefully I can miss at least some of the crazies...
