You're trying and I give you credit for the attempt at positive. It's hard to get pumped for a record post count and a million views with the deafening silence from V and the apparent (though hopefully erroneous) downgrade to 16GB.

I do appreciate what you're doing. Tough job, tough room.

I think I'll watch TV for the night before the clock speed gets downgraded to 800mHz and the OS to Eclair.

Verizon isn't getting 16gb.

Having an OG Droid, I'm used to only having 16GB, and that was the SD card. 16GB internally for apps among other things will be a dream in comparison. I'm still all for the SGN, I was just getting hyped up for 32GB since a few people seemed so certain that's what we'd be getting.

I'm sure others have tablets as well. I'll save the movie watching for the 10" w/ extra storage and spare the SGN its 16GB & battery life for other things.

You are the calm in the storm.

'Kay, folks deep breath, and read above.
There are thousands of phones right now, and who knows for how many days prior...sealed in boxes. Some evil VZW fairy cannot wave a wand and *poof* cut thousands of phones storage in half.
Everyone remember. They exist, they are made, they are tangible, The space time continuum dictates that they can not go back in time and remove storage.

What if the phone are already made with 16GB and not 32GB and google just typo-ed on the specs page and now it is correct?

Out of curiosity, if/when this thing DOES go on sale next week (before Black Friday), do you think Verizon will slash the price on Black Friday/Cyber Monday? They discounted the RAZR by a TON ($299 down to $111.11 for the special occasion)... it's not entirely out of the question.
And if they do slash the price after initial launch, will us SUPER early adopters be reimbursed the difference? (I would hope so!)

We can email whoever we want. They really don't care. They'll just give their normal apologetic speech and if it is Verizon they throw you a perk. 99% of us will wait and get this phone no matter what. And bitch and moan about the whole time until we get it.

And when that day comes will all be happy again :)

If you are not a fanboy of either OS, they should be concerned.

I was going for the rumored iPhone 5. It didn't happen, so here I am.

I wanted a bigger screen with a productive OS. Google won this round, in my mind. Apple can easily win people like me back.

Companies should never underestimate who pays their bills.

Should we still trust you? :(
I'm sure we would all love for you to be correct.
I just want to know how people are so certain of anything at this point.

i have no doubt that it will be 32gb

Thanks for keeping us in the loop, as always. It is much appreciated.

As much as I enjoy reading and replying in this thread, I think it is a wise idea to take a bit of a break. Maybe for just tonight, maybe for a bit longer. Everything is back and forth at this point.

I will leave you guys (for now) with just this thought: Despite what we saw today, I STILL think Verizon would be absolutely stupid to not have this thing available by BF weekend. As I was thinking this, I read Hans post, and I'm glad that there is still some people higher up in VZW saying this.

Look, they have shown themselves to be pretty incompetent at times, especially with device launches. But they aren't THAT stupid. Barring any hardware defects or supply shortages, even the most basic marketing employee would know how much of a BAD idea missing the BF date is with a device like this. I don't think they would even let a minor software bug, such as the Backup Assistant not working or Exchange issues, delay them for two, almost three weeks, as that can be fixed via OTA pretty quickly. And if you believe certain people, the device has either been or is close to be shipped, it would be way too late to recall all of them just to do a software update.

Also, let's not forget why they call it "Black Friday" in the first place. :-) And as far as we know and can tell, the RAZR and Rezound are NOT selling in the way they want them to. They can't think that just because it is BF that they will magically start to fly off of the shelves. They must realize that people are either A. Waiting for the Nexus because that is the only phone they will buy or B. Waiting for the Nexus because they want to make the BEST possible buying decision, and want the Nexus to compare to the other two.

I'm confident that, in some way, it will be available to purchase for BF. But for now, I'm taking a bit of a break. If somebody could please be so amazing as to PM me if we hear anything close to official or anything substantial, I would love you forever. Thanks :D

BF is exactly why it won't be released by then. BF is for bargains. The GN is not a bargain. You may see some nice RAZR discounts, though. This week will be about unloading RAZRs

I have to agree with this, The Verge would NOT post something they're not 100% certain on I think. And as Antimony said a few posts ago, every test device thus far has had 32 GB.

BF USED to be for bargains. Now it is for faking people into believing they are bargains and making up for soft sales the rest of the year.

Am I the only one who doesn't get why it's so great to get the XX,000 post? It's there, and then it's gone. congrats i guess

No, you're not the only one. I don't get it either.... It's like when you come up to an exact dollar amount in the grocery store, admire the fact that there's no change to handle then swipe your plastic like every other time and move on....

Looks like the storage has changed for the official nexus page?

Galaxy Nexus

didn't that say 16/32gb earlier!?

w. t. f.

Verizon to Google: "It has become apparent to us that a lot of people want the SGN, and it's going to be taking sales away from our precious RAZR and Rezound. We need to downgrade it so it doesn't sell so well, so we won't be carrying the 32gb version. Thanks!"

Every test device has had 32GB that I have seen so far.

Where did this 16 gig only crap come from? Even the official site now lists 16 and 32 options. Who is stirring the pot? I need to break their stick!

wow, i'm more worked up over this than the release date change

I just will never understand verizon. How do they not realize that they are not only pissing off their customers but simultaniously ruining their chances at stealing more customers from other carriers. Any other company with a great exclusive would be advertising and touting it by now, with everyone knowing it was coming in xx number of days. Their such a large company in an oligopic industry so they can get away with it but it just wreaks of bad logic on the branding side of things. Verizon over the past year+ has come to be known as having the best network and the most infuriating way of launching phones. It is just annoying and why associate your brand with that negative sentiment because of something that is completely controllable with minimal effort. ie a short message about a release date instead of a 3 month time frame and then ignoring existence.

/frustrated rant

Stupid business logic frustrates me but I cant leave verizon so they will continue to get my money anyway. but this is why big companies can eventually go down hill, forgetting what got them to where the are.
