***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

Hey all,

I had a really great Thanksgiving dinner with my extended family in Minneapolis today. I'm so stuffed, but it was more than worth it :)

Anyways, I think I posted this earlier but I'm not sure (it was from my phone):
Galaxy Nexus HSPA+ review -- Engadget
Notice their apparent distaste for the camera :/ But on the plus side, 28 hours of battery on normal use?!?! I'm excited :)

BTW I convinced my mom to get the SGN with me when it comes out (she's upgrading from a DInc), so I'll have someone to use Android Beam with! :D

Well I'm out for tonight, Nexicans!

Found an official Verizon ad picturing the GNex (on DroidForums). Remind anyone of this?

I can't see it in your link... Is this real or are you pulling another fast one on us?

Okay boys and girls, be you intoxicated or of sound mind, I need some advice:

The HTC device is on sale through Costco for $50. You do not need a membership to buy it. There is a 90-day return policy.

My thinking is:

Should I go ahead and pull the trigger on this baby, and whenever the 2 year old fetus (SGN) decides to finally crawl out of its mother's birth canal, I simply return it and have my upgrade ready for the SGN?

If I don't fall in love with the red buttoned little devil, that is.

Hmmm. Decisions, decisions. And they have the sale only through tomorrow.

Since I believe you know the advantages of the GN over the other phones out there, you'll end up with the GN, I think. Sounds like your just looking to get a new toy for the sake of getting a new toy. That's your choice. Or is it some feature of the Rez that you absolutely must have?

Glad to have satisfied your curiosity. I'm one of those women that can be jealous and appreciative at the same time. If another woman is hot I am secure enough to admit it. I'll even point out a very attractive woman to friends if we are out.

A second food coma??

Sounds like my wife. That's a good thing ;)

Yea I got hungry again and ate myself into oblivion....

The main feature that I like is the $250 savings. :o

It's definitely something to sleep on.

However, and this is a BIG however, YankeeDudeL (who works at Costco in the mobile department) says that if you upgrade through them, you lose the upgrade after 14 days if you decide to return it.

So I bought a ReZound... sigh.

I couldn't wait any longer... my OG Droid wasn't receiving texts and calls half the time.

I have to say.. this is a very nice phone. It feels very well built, the screen is AMAZING on it. The sense UI isn't that bad either (I'm used to living in stock rom land over on my droid). There are some nice features that they bake in. The camera app is very nice... funny thing was that my wife bought an iPhone 4s at the same time and she is jealous of the camera in the rezound. Apparently the HTC is faster (at least to my wife) than the iPhone.

All in all, if the Nexus were to never come out I would not be upset with having to keep this phone. I still plan on returning the ReZound to pick up a Nexus.. but my wife is already talking about returning her iPhone to get a reZound or Nexus.

Feels sooooooo nice to be free of that clunky old Droid.

Side note... the ReZound is fairly heavy... weighs about the same as the OG droid. Just found that to be interesting. (I think the Nexus is somewhere in the ballpark of 20g or so lighter)

The ad picture is real. It's not up on the Verizon site it links to, though. I still see it as a good sign. It's pretty much confirming that the device will be out before Christmas, which is more news than we've gotten from Verizon themselves in a long time.

EDIT: Then again, the picture could have been designed by an ad agency, and not Verizon.

Looks like I missed this news. So are they confirmed to carry Gnex in store once verizon releases it?

It showed up on a Costco system thingy a few weeks ago. Droid-Life had an article on it, but I'm too lazy to look it up.

I think it was at $289.

Congrats I think both the R phones are very nice! After a couple weeks with the Rez you might not want to return it.

Can Android and iOS communicate via webcam via google talk or similar?

Funny you say that lol. I had written in my reply to your post about money, but removed it before I posted. I figured, in the end, that $ was not an object to you. That's what I get for assuming ;)

Unfortunately, it is. I know a lot of people assume that lawyers make a crap load, but it's not usually true. Especially if you work for the government. :(

I'm really stretching it this year. If I didn't want the TP, I'd be golden. But I would really like both a phone and the TP this year, so. . .

Ah well. Something to sleep on. :)
