What is it with Motorola's tablet prices? Didn't they learn their lesson about the $800 price point after they only sold, like, ten XOOMs?

I'm more concerned by the fact that they have to know the TP is launching soon. This generation of their tablet looks to be totally uncompetitive.

Did you see the "hd" Samsung rumors? I have an original Xoom and I like it but app support is really lacking vs my iPad It seems like the Android version of basically every app is just inferior. WTB some Android native apps. (directv app is an excellent example, can watch tv or DVR on iPad version Android is a fancy tv guide.)

Just corked a six+ month old acerglyn (maple mead) made with a gallon of VT maple syrup, 10# of honey and topped to 5 gallons. It has been accurately dubbed New England Gold and will be gifted this year... and next! Those who get it next year are the ones I REALLY love.

Oh and yeah... Is that Duke ref that far off? I mean the tech is already 2+ months old... at this point that's like 5 years in video game "years" ... I hope it doesn't get as bad as Duke though I am sad that it's already/soon-to-be "outdated" hardware-wise.

I just want my ice cream sam-ich.

Forgot to mention what I thought of the display when I played with the phone today. I am sensitive to resolution and could tell it's not QUITE as sharp as the ReZound without looking too close. The AMOLED is nicer over all though for sure. I would rank it best for now, but that PenTile is visible, but only by just BARELY(definitely would be skeptical an RGBW LCD in 720p and this size would look sharp enough for me in stage of display tech). The screen size doesn't seem like 4.65", but I think that's mostly due to its different aspect compared to my wifes 4.3" Charge and generally more compact design compared to the Charge.

Definitely still a must have aspect of the phone in the end. Probably third most important reason I must have this phone after stock ICS and open aspect of the Nexus from a dev/rom aspect. I tried loading full web HD Youtube, but the stock browers force desktop mode didn't work on youtube. Curious to see how well HD full web flash site with no mobile alternatives with HD will work on OMAP4 and ICS. They worked OK on Bionic when I rented it. Will be a great use of the awesome screen.

And do you really expect to get an answer to those questions? Let me get this strait, you expect a CSR to answer questions like that, when they don't even get any device launch dates until Verizon corporate announces them (aka, same time as us).

Verizon CSRs are kept in the dark and trained to only answer questions certain ways. We expect that since they work for Verizon, they have some sort of inside connection. Wrong.....big wrong.

There are several CSRs who are enthusiasts like ourselves. Those are the cool ones, but also the dangerous ones because they read the rumors, same as us, and then pass some of them on. Now it looks like it came from offical Verizon, which is not the case.

The only thing that will make this official is a Verizon announcement. As for them canning the phone, not going to happen.

I don't expect anything to happen.

I've called 5 stores and been to 3 corporate stores in the past day and a half and was surprised none of them mentioned other phones after saying they didn't have the nexus. I kept thinking I was gonna end up hearing a spiel about how I should get the razr or rezound but it never happened

I've liked all Pentile displays so far (Bionic yes) I don't care for an SD Card, the Camera is poor but its not something i use often, and I don't care if there is a fancy name for placing files onto my phone as long as i can do it

That does bring up a question, how exactly do you do it? How do I get files from my PC to the nexus without USB? It must be possible, but how is it done now?

Not at all. All four of those claims are true. Rezound also has 1.5GHz CPU compared to Nexus' 1.2GHz.

(Yes I know that the two phones have near-identical CPU performance, and that while Rezound appears to take better pictures in many comparisons, megapixels mean nothing.)

You meant to say...a Super Amoled HD screen (720)...has 32GB storage and USB is still readable with windows and with other OSs with a slight tweak...NOTHING you mentioned is a turn off...sorry you LOSE!!!

Rezound has 16GB+16GB, where the microSD can be replaced with a 32GB or possibly 64GB. The only place where Nexus has a clear hardware win is the NFC, which I don't anticipate wanting anytime soon.

Mainly I'm just yanking some chains here. I don't find Nexus' hardware as impressive as Rezound's, but ICS is something I'll miss. Both phones are awful nice (but no comment on RAZR).

I dont expect to get answers, but since Verizon is making me suffer, i feel like it's a fair exchange to annoy their employees so they can make a little noise for us.

This is actually a nice little segway since I was just about to address this as a general comment.

Previously, there was a time in this thread where people started posting thier chat logs with Verizon. It seemed that became a one-ups-man thing, and people started to out do each other, each time getting more and more harrassing to the CSRs.

It went south, real quick, and the mods handed out some infractions, and there was a cease and desist for ALL verizon chat logs. That was later modified that you could post up a chat, as long as you were polite to the CSRs and didn't hound them for information they don't have.

I'm starting to see this heading the wrong direction again.

Put quite simply, be polite. But the harsh reality is they don't know anything. You have every right to do what you want in your personal life, but that doesn't mean you should post it here.

I get the Nexus love, I really do. I was afflicted with it from mid October until late November myself. But do yourself a favor and at least go to a store and check out a ReZound or Razr and ask yourself, honestly, " could THIS be my phone for the next twenty months?". You might be surprised by your own answer, especially where the HTC Device is concerned...

Good pitch. And up until 2 nights ago, I could have possibly agreed with it...then I played with the Nexus. If I'm going to stay with Android (I really want to) IT will be my next phone. I know that phones are all about opinions so I hope that you don't take offense to this, but the Rezound/RAZR don't hold a candle to it IMHO. I'm really glad that you got your phone though and that you enjoy it that much. Hope it treats you well over the next 20 months, I had really good luck with my HTC devices.

Uh, with all due respect, that's not the right approach. We've had this discussion here before, so I'll just reiterate that harassing Verizon employees is not a way of "getting back" at the executives at Verizon. The CSRs can't complain to any higher ups, and even if they do, their management can't just call up the CEO and complain either.

All you're doing is making the jobs of regular, working people harder.
The best thing you can do if you want some dialogue with Verizon (however limited), send the executives a politely worded email. Don't bother the grunts.

Basically at this point I have given up hope on the Nexus being released by the end of this year. There is obviously a major issue or they would not have gone through such drastic steps to pull back the planned release date just days before, after phones had already shipped and customers had been contacted to set up appointments to order the phone.

There must be some pretty big snag on Verizon's part that has had them push this thing back indefinitely. I mean, they didn't even change it to Dec 12, Dec 15....NOTHING. We may not see this thing until January. Who the hell knows at this point. Verizon is ridiculous. Dammit, even the Canadians have it before we do!

If the phone's model # is shown as SCH i515, maybe. Just know that it might take a bit of a hurdle to get the right settings on it to work on VZW, just like the 'service programming on the Motorola Droid" thread at HoFo was for the Motorola A855 to get it on Cricket and Metro, etc.

I just don't know if we will have the same 'hardcore' software for a Samsung phone like we do for a Motorola phone.

I tried to get the model number off their site but couldn't find it. But given that they advertise it as a global phone, and these specs, there's no way it's gonna work on VZW. Here are the specs:

I may have doomed us all last night when I ordered a Nexus case. I assumed it was safe as launch was a day away, well Verizon showed me.

Whatever, I'm going to bed. I'll check back in and if there is a soft launch in the next 7 days I'll waddle into the store and get one. If there is no Nexus by next Friday I will be calling Verizon and utilize the fart app on my DX to tell them what I think of their launch skills.
