***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

Good morning everyone, hope everyone had a good weekend. I had a GREAT Sunday night as the Giants defeated the Cowboys in JerryWorld. What a great game!!

No news yet about the Galaxy Nexus, of course. Not surprising if the ISIS/Google Wallet rumor is true. If the device is ready for public consumption, it figures that Suit Bickering and greed is preventing its release.

This is good news for me, in a sense. We just found out that we'll know about our jobs in the first week of January. Since my wife and I have all of our eggs in one basket (we both work for the same bank), the news that week can range from great (we both keep our jobs) to so-so (one of us will lose our jobs) to total crap (we both won't have jobs). Due to this, I'm not going to get the Galaxy Nexus until we hear about our employment future. It would be irrespsible to spend $300 on a phone I truthfully don't need until I know what's going on, you know?

I think we're going to be fine, but nothing's guaranteed. I'm not worried about it because I can't do a single thing about it. Hopefully there's dual employment (and a Galaxy Nexus ) in my future, but we'll know soon enough!

Ugh, can't contain this frustration, must vent. OG Droid officially on its last legs - it no longer notifies me when I have text messages; no blinking light, nothing in the notification bar. It also refuses to send an increasing percentage of texts. Where's my Nexus?

Same here... plus mine just randomly rebooted in the holster this morning!

Also anyone have any insight on upgrades. Me and my wife are on a family plan with my parents. The main line says upgrade at a discount but is unable to "transfer upgrade" . The main line is not mine and i can use that upgrade but do not want to disrupt service on that line. Can i use the upgrade and have customer service transfer the upgrade to my line after the discounted purchase price. I obviously am not eligible as this is my 5th phone this calander year.

My guess is that the upgrade is the annual upgrade on the line, and therefore can't be transferred. AFAIK, the main line can get an upgrade every 12 months, while other lines need to wait 20. So if they allowed you to transfer the earlier upgrade from the main line, then you'd be able to bypass the 20 month upgrade times on the other lines.

Since "06/20/11" was almost 6 months ago, does that mean I may be eligible for a loyalty discount at this time? I hate to ask a stupid question, but it is confusing since both items show up under the same line.

I'd be buying the Rezound so quick it'd make your head spin.

I went to a vzw store yesterday to take a look at it. It's ok, but not much better than my TB. Each and every page of apps were loaded (and I mean loaded) with VZW bloat. It was such a turn off. Yes, the phone was quick and pretty but without root the device is totally useless to me.

Now with root and some custom roms it might very well be another story, but don't they have a locked bootloader? If it's not the GN then I'd have to wait for another device with an unlocked bootloader. If I couldn't get that ever again (and that seems entirely possible) then I would consider moving to another provider once this TB crapped out since I'm now only a couple of months away from my 4 lines being totally off contract.

I bought SwiftKeyX for 10 cents. Maybe I'll actually USE it on Nexus. But I figure I can't really go wrong with a dime app. Oh BTW Beautiful Widgets (which I would never use) is also on sale for a dime
