Well I don't think I'm allowed back in that Verizon store...I asked about the Incredible and they yet again, played dumb saying "As of now there is no sure thing it would be there on the 29th (in store)" Thats when I pulled it out and said "Well lookie here, the Unicorn DOES exist. I then hung out as they tried to find out why people were getting it early. I cost them two Moto Droid sales by telling the customers to wait for a week and avoid the $35 return fee. The best part was, one of the assistant manager tried to tell a customer I was lying and that I just took the track ball out of an Eris and passed it off as a new phone.

Classic. :D Gotta love that.

Enjoy...:)

That's freakin' hilarious!!! I can't believe you went in there and did that.

That's great... Cost the sales rep a couple of sales and now they are going to stuck with 2 extra moto droids

c'mon seriously dude, go to ebay and buy your invite like the rest of us. If you can afford a $200 phone, $20 case, $10 screen protector and who knows how many other accessories, if you want a Google Voice account, go buy one. ;)

I've been thinking about it. What's sad, is the price for an invite has been climbing since the release of this phone became imminent. So, the longer I wait... :D Evil supply and demand. I feel weird about buying something somebody acquired for free, and paying more as they take advantage of a market ignited by the release of our phone. Still, at the end of the day, I will likely buy an invite. ;)

As far as accessories, only really decided to wait for a slightly larger Seido battery in the same form factor, Zagg Invisible Shield, and 16GB Class 6 MicroSD. Yet to see a hard case I'd like yet. Although, the gradient one Verizon is going to be carrying is tempting.

Here's a big question. If anyone has their hands on the actual device, do you see a pair exposed metal contacts anywhere near the battery which might be used for an inductive charger case at some point?

HAHA they seriously said you were lying? nice job

It's awesome. You get a new phone number that you get to choose. It connects all of your lines. You can set it up to screen calls, listen in on voicemails as they are being left and allows you to join the call while someone is leaving a voicemail. Also, you can send group texts from Google Voice. It integrates all of your Gmail contacts for ease. All of your voicemails are now sent to you as text, (not always 100% accurate but getting better). So many functions that you will not be disappointed.

No need to pay for visual voice mail, its FREE and 100% integrated into your Google phone.

all that sounds pretty sweet....so should I buy it now on ebay or wait till they invite me?

do you have to choose to set up a new number with GV to get all those benefits? i only have 1 number so i didn't chose that option when setting up GV and i really only use it for visual voicemail right now...

I think so, it gives you two choices when you set it up. I chose the option with a new number, seemed to give you more options.

I think the best part was I had to wear a polo to the office today for corporate and customer visitors, so in my fashion of mocking this office, I decided to wear one of my old Best Buy polos...Nothing like arguing with Verizon reps while wearing a Best Buy shirt lol.

Amen. I cant wait to walk around with a SNES/Genesis in my pocket. I'll be all over Super Mario World.

Problem will not be the speed (smooth as butter on Nexus & same chipset). The problem is the touch screen virtual pad for controls. Touch screen needs to have no delay and handle two presses at same time without response issues as well.

I would like to know how well Inc handles the emulators too :)

Speaking of Google Voice, Gmail, Reader, Google Wave, etc. If you use Firefox, you NEED to get this addon --> IntegratedGmail.com . It is the GREATEST addon of all for Firefox if you use Google Services. I wonder if there is an app like that in Android Market?

I just use chrome, with the gmail pop up extension, its great.

Thats hilarious, wish I was there to see that,

Have you seen the post, article, video, website, etc... which talk about how the EVO and Incredible features new multitouch, infinite touch recognition, lower power consumption, and proof that there is no issue? Search for it, it's on this thread a few pages back. I hope that buries this issue once and for all.

I would get a silicone case for the phone but I also would need a leather pouch belt clip...and I know with the case on the phone it wouldn't fit in the pouch

I'd rather have the pouch tho...I hate putting my phone in my pocket and I've had the 3gs since last summer and never dropped it once

i should be ok without the case and just rock out with the leather pouch

Also, I had a storm about a month ago, sold it. Bought an Eris and sold that a few days ago to my buddy. I'm currently using a samsung omnia. I think I'd almost take my razr over this.

I've been using a Samsung Omnia since November 2008, actually since the day it was released. I'm so sick of the phone and actually still wish I had my Moto Krzr, which froze less then this thing does. I can't wait to get rid of it and get my Incredible on the May 2nd.

Can't pick it up on the 29th because I'm flying out to Kentucky for the Derby and am afraid I'll be too drunk and break my brand new phone if I got it the 29th.
