Just went to my local VZW store and they had an Incredible in the back! The rep busted it out and let me play with it for a while. I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but this phone is truly living up to it's name! Can't wait to call it mine.
 
I don't want to be a Negative Nancy but:

Froyo Android 2.2 is rumored to be unveiled at Googles I/O Event on May 19th. Do you think the Droid INCREDIBLE will get this update at all before 2010 ends? I do want my Incredible to have defeated the fragmented issue.

Since it's a point release, I think it'll be faster than the Hero -> 2.1 upgrade (happening early next month). I can offer nothing more other than a "we'll see".
 
Quick story....I had an issue with my NE2, so I attempted to cancel my preorder and place it again online (long story).

Anyway, i was told via online chat, customer service over the phone, and internet phone sales that it was NOT POSSIBLE to cancel my preorder because the computer system has them on hold and it is locked.

Can anyone else confirm this? I've read a few members mentioning they might try to cancel their preorder.
 
I know its still early in the game but quite a few incredibles are in the publics hands.
You ever notice how the minute a new phone comes out some apple fanboy posts youtube videos showing how much faster the iphone is,...

I was able to cancel mine and pre-order it again. I did speak to the manager though.
 
Hey guys i emailed verizon yesterday morning requesting having my annual upgrade date moved from june 20 2010 to April 29 2010. And to my surprise after being denied 3 days ago they actually gave me the green light yesterday. I called verizon today at about 6 and they said there hasnt been any change made and im still on ly able to earl upgrade in June. Is this because it takes 24 hours to update in there systems, or will the change com into effect on the 29 when the Incredible releases any help would appreciated. Heres the email

I have a question for anyone who has the phone. What are the options for changing scenes? Is there any way to set up the phone to automatically switch based on certain conditions, like the time of day and day of week.

Optimally, what I'd love is to have two main scenes on the phone. One for work, and one for not work. It would be great if it could automatically change into the work scene at 8:30 every week day morning, then switch back to my on-work scene at 6:00.

I imagine if there is no ability built in, we may be able to get an app that does it, but I'm just curious how much flexibility is built in with the scenes. Is manual switching by going into the menu the only option? I guess I could search the user guide.
 
Hearing about 2.2, I REALLY hope Google ends fragmentation/VZW decides to update this beast fast!! (It would probably be up to HTC too..for Sense). So I think it would take awhile.
 
So I'm sorta 'seeing' this guy that works at a non-corp VWZ store and he's a nerd (like me) and he asked me a few weeks ago if we were going to pick up the Incredible "together"? I guess like for a 2nd date or something..I didn't say yes or no (b/c it was 3 weeks ago and I didn't want to commit to a second date weeks out till I got to know him better so, I said we'll see.
Well I talked to him last and I let it slip that I already pre-ordered mine on Monday morning and he's NOT TALKING TO ME... lol.... He said that I broke some bond of trust or something....His Facebook status says " I got played today INCREDIBLY".... I told him that we only went on 1 date and he cannot dictate my technical gadget life.
He's 4 yrs younger than me. It's this some kinda Android Fanboy heartbreak??? I feel bad... I'm sure I'll be over it next week when the FedEx guy rings my bell.....

Funny you should mention that. I just signed up after lurking for many months to tell my story.

I pre-ordered the incredible on Sunday evening. Then I realized that i signed up for 2 years instead of 1, so i sent an email reply to my order confirmation asking if i could cancel/modify the account.

I received no response that night. then i called on monday morning and the csr made the changes.

On tuesday morning, i received an email reply from online:

Dear Mr. xxxxxx,

Thank you for contacting Verizon Wireless. After review of your order # xxxxxxxxx, we see you have spoken with one our representatives already. Your order has been noted (if we have the option) to change to 1 year pricing on the contract and handset and to change to overnight shipping. You will receive an email once the order has been processed.

I don't understand how this order was canceled, unless another email csr saw my email and canceled it w/o doing the due diligence that the first email csr did and outright canceled my order.


i called in again this afternoon and they said everything was squared away and the order was re-opened. yet, the current order status still says the order was canceled - but my online account says that i ordered a device so i'm not eligible for an upgrade anymore.

of course, i'm not really worried about the latter, just wondering if i actually have an active order. also, they have no clue why the order was canceled in the first place.


i emailed back to the cancellation email - see if i get a response.



sadly, i wish this could qualify me for an early delivery, but at this point, i'm not even sure if i have an order for the 29th!


EDIT: i spoke to another CSR and it turns out the first CSR on Monday morning had to cancel my order in order to change it from 2 years to 1 year. sadly, the CSR i spoke to this afternoon couldn't figure that out. They can't reinstate my order until the 26th, at which point it will be reinstated and then processed - in time for a 29th delivery. oh well. i guess i just need to double-check on the 26th/27th to make sure it went through.
 
The Federal government contracts with Verizon alway delay being able to purchase newly released phones for a while. Has anyone heard when the Incredible will be available for those contract holders?

Hmm...I wonder if this would affect me if I ordered it at retail? I get the Fed Gov't plan discount, but it's a personal account.

I've been trying to process the order on my Droid Incredible since like 3:30PM, and I haven't gotten past the checkout. It's now 4:35 and I've missed the window for overnight shipping.

It doesn't matter, you're not going to get it overnight anyway, unless you order it on the 28th.

I should have been more clear here. My apologies.

I'm NOT looking for something that is specifically designed to be form fitting for the incredible. I'm just looking for a belt holster with some kind of velcro/snap/button flap, that is designed for a phone of approximately this size AND has enough extra room to allow for an extended battery. Any help would be most appreciated.

Everything I've seen online doesn't specify whether or not there's enough extra room to allow for the ELB, so I was hoping maybe someone here has experience with a holster for another device.

You could just get a satchel..

Well, Verizon bumped up my NE2 date to today, so I promptly placed my pre-order!

I haven't been able to keep up with the thread today, so does anyone know if anyone actually got theirs today who said they got shipping confirmation yesterday?

Whoa, seriously?! Sounds like he'd have been an *incredible* (haha, couldn't resist ;)) control freak anyway! Besides, you don't need him...have you seen the new Cosmo? There's a tip in there about using your phone for things other than calls, texts, and the like! :D Haha, kidding of course (not about that being in Cosmo, it really is...but EWW!)!

I feel bad... I'm sure I'll be over it next week when the FedEx guy rings my bell.....

Especially if your FedEx dude is hot! :p
