I spent some extensive time with 2 Incredibles at 2 different VZW stores today. I am very impressed. Everything about the Incredible was faster than my Droid...the UI, and opening apps, etc. Pages on the browser was also noticeably faster. The phone is very very thin, and light, but a nice weight to it. It feels great in the hand to me, and feels of good quality. Only thing I didn't like was that I couldn't find the "News and Weather" app that comes on Android 2.1 Does anyone know if it is available on the Incredible, and if so, how do I get it?

@ Webflunkie, Thank you. Those answers were all I needed.

@ Hovercraftdriver25, seriously?! I sincerely did not think they were offensive or naive questions. These are just some things I wanted some clarification on. I've tried to search for these topics, and I've been trying to follow this thread. But trying to search through 44,000+ posts on a single thread? I'll apologize to you if I caused you any trauma. And yes, I found your reply to be harsh.

No worries - Understand lots of the folks here have been with this thread for many, many posts asking these same questions. I think it just appears as though you did very little research before spending the time to ask your questions. Asking if the phone had two cameras really showed that you had not done any homework.

It just makes it easy to get frustrated with an over bloated thread.

It also struck me as being incredibly THIN.

I'm a big guy (6'5, 275) with fairly big hands, and the device felt very thin in my hands. Def not too thin to handle, but noticeably different than holding the IPhone or even the HD2.

Combined with the light weight, it is very cool indeed.

And notice this is yet another person saying it didn't feel cheap or plasticky.

It is there...

I went back and back in the thread and the stickies, searching for this info, but can't find it...so I throw myself on the mercy of this list: Where do I order a black/red gradient case? Anybody have a link? I searched VZW's web site but didn't see it.

I have read just about every post in this thread and I have not seen this mentioned. I am coming from a BB to the new android and I understand that everything my phone will not do "droid does." I am looking for a program to control some of the functionality of my car. I am aware of the Viper software that will allow you to lock/unlock and even start your car, however I am looking for something with a little more potential. I would really like to be able to control my car in the true James Bond fashion. Make it drive and turn and stuff. Shooting rockets would be cool but not really necessary. Any who, I don't have any money after I pay for this phone so I am hoping that this is available with a native ap. Or atleast a free one. Does anyone know if this is already available on the phone or can anyone recommend a good free ap? Oh yeah, the car actually belongs to my mom and she said I can't make any changes to it. So the application needs to be backwards compatible with my car. Thanks in advance. Please don't flame.:)

Does anyone else think that *611 should have a message that says "press X if you want someone to confirm that we do still have your pre-order and we will ship it to you next week?"

Does anyone else think that *611 should have a message that says "press X if you are so insecure and needy that you have to keep calling to confirm that your order didn't just disappear even though you got an email with a confirmation number and a shipping date of April 28th and there is no reason to think that there is a problem with you order but you have nothing better to do than keep our csr's from helping other people with real customer support issues and not make-believe problems...and then if you press x you get disconnected"?

Yeah, that would be cool.

I believe i read that you have to call verizon customer service to order that case.

For those that have the phone or have played with it: In your opinion, would the phone be too thick if an extended battery were used with it that added a little bit of thickness to it? Since some have commented on how thin it is, I'm wondering if the phone might still feel pretty good (i.e. not too thick) with an extended battery.

My point exactly. :D

i think there is an app that will turn your moms car into a spaceship and let you travel at warp 9. seriously though yea it will easily drive your moms car for you, you can just ride in the backseat and control it. :)

I thought this phone comes with visual voicemail standard (it was in one of the videos)?

The free Voicemail you saw on the video is the service that Verizon offers. You can download the app for free, but you still have to pay of the service. With your GV account you get it for free + they also transcribe it for you using speech to text. It's not perfect but it still comes in handy.

Last night I went to the VZW store, and we thought we were gonna pick up 4 Incredibles, so the manager brought out their only demo unit. He said they had been told not to even touch it until Sunday, and they most certainly weren't supposed to be showing me now.

He reserved two for me for launch day, and said it was very likely that they would be drop shipped.

I spent about an hour with the phone, and got to see that it is about 6,00x faster than the DROID, the camera lens does NOT stick out (only the trim around it that protects it), that it does not come with an SD card, etc.

If you have any questions I would be happy to answer them.

observation/question...

Does anyone else find it a least a little ironic how many people are pre-ordering this phone without having seen or played with one in person?

I was lucky enough to play around with one at my local VZW store, but I just feel like everyones big argument against the nexus one was "i don't want to buy a phone that I can't play around with in store first. Bad sales model google!"

And then they pre-ordered it off the internet, untouched, april 19th...

anyone? anyone? beuhler?

at least for me it was more not being able to have the phone serviced at my local verizon store that made me choose the inc over the nexus one. but also the better specs and the optical track pad (vs the track ball). also, i had planned to wait till about mid may to get mine but yhe select button on my blackjack 2 (coming from att) crapped out on me, so I need a new phone as soon as possible.

I thought the argument was that if one was to buy straight from google, they would have to deal with google's customer service which apparently sucks.

No - it's so thin as is, that I can't see an aftermarket battery adding much heft to it at all.

It now says on the Verizon site that the phone comes with a 2 GB card preinstalled. Another thread has checked this out with verizon and it seems like its legit.

Not that this is much to get excited about, but where are you seeing this? I'm looking at the detailed specs off of the upgrade page and it's not there.

Hey i have a question. My friends palm pre automatically imports the phone numbers from facebook into his phone with their name, email, pic, etc. Not talking about just the pictures of contacts you already have in your phone, but importing new ones from facebook automatically. Does the android fb support this?
