OK...For all those frantically checking your order status, I just spoke with a manager at VZW Internet Sales because I made two orders for the DI and needed to cancel one of them, he said that NONE OF THE ORDERS WILL SHIP UNTIL THURSDAY! We are all in the same boat, no one will be receiving their DI early, we all will get it on the 29th. So please, please stop giving us your updated order status!!

The same people also say that no orders went out early, and clearly that's wrong. I also posted en e-mail in a previous post about them shipping as early as the 26th.

yea at this point i don't trust anything verizon says. i'll just believe what is gonna work out best for me. :)

B) Actually, yes, I did have something new to say. Unless I've missed it, I don't recall anyone being told by a rep what their credit limit was. Some people were wondering if their current status of "check back in a few days" had to do with billing the equipment to their account.

I had the option to bill to my account or pay with a card, and I chose to pay with a card, my debit actually which has more than enough to cover the order and my status is: Your order is awaiting approval or phone availability. Please check back in a few days.

I ordered around noon EST on the 19th. :(

Order Date: 04/20/2010
Order Number: 327420***
Order Status: Your order is awaiting approval or phone availability. Please check back in a few days.

Anyone who ordered on the 20th receive a status change yet?

And just when I thought I was content on getting it the 29th...

Just curious, did anyone who ordered from the west coast have theirs processed and ready to be shipped? I'm in SF and mine still says awaiting approval or phone availability.

I ordered on 4/19 and did not get mine yet.

Again including a SD card doesn't help this since apps can't use the memory card either.

i know nothing about the android os, but i recall from at least one review that an sd card will be beneficial because some apps store data on an sd card and dont recognize the onboard 8gb.. or something like that.. it was on one of the video reviews (engadget?)...

This is from another forum that shall remain nameless, but is known for it's excellent technical information:

Quote:
I've been doing some battery tests yesterday and today, so far the Motorola has been able to get 7hr 30min of talk time on a full charge, but the HTC was only able to get 5hr 30min of talk time on a full charge.
Two hours of talk time in a pretty big difference, considering there is only 100mAh difference between the batteries.

That Test was between the Droid and the Incredible in case it wasn't clear to you :D
I'm wondering if that is because of what one of the reviewers was saying about some of the GPS and location aware features of the phone being on by default?

Can someone who has the phone already, turn off some of the background stuff that is using the 3G radio to keep track of location, and see if their overall battery life and talk time are better?

C) Sorry, I'm cooped up inside with not much to do but read, watch TV, and be on the internet. I have 3 incisions in my stomach from having my ovaries drilled and endometriosis removed on Tuesday. So, yeah, you'll just have to excuse me if I don't feel much like getting outside and going for a walk.

Thank you very much.

Hope you feel better but TMI!!!

The term "rom" is used very loosely with these devices. The OS and apps are stored on the "rom". That is why the Droid had 228mb free, since the remainder was taken up by the OS and preinstalled apps. If the chips on these device were literally "rom"s, it would not be possible to update them.

Closest example of a true "rom" is a game cartridge- even most later NES games have some flash for games saves. :)

Hopefully app access to the 6.6gb is corrected quickly.

Pretty fair description. A ROM can only be written once and never changed. These are a type of EEPROM (Electrically Erasable PROgrammable Memory), which allows a slight current to erase it and reprogram it with updated information.

That video was uploaded by kcoan3, a poster on this thread.

What a piece of shit.

yeah, video quality was a piece of shit.

ohhhh, you were calling him a piece of shit. Maybe you shouldn't judge others. Shooting squirrels (or any game while hunting) is fun and they taste good. Some would say "like chicken" but I say chicken tastes like squirrel.

They must be filling the orders of who pre-ordered first. Seems anyone that was able to sneak in on the 18th, their order is processing along with some on the 19th. I pre-ordered mine on the 19th so I'm hoping later today I will see some confirmation.

I ordered on the 18th and mine hasn't processed yet. I'm hoping it changes soon.
