Ok guys, I need help with an executive decision. I preordered at BB a few weeks back hoping to get my Inc Thursday morning. After reading all your posts about the BB stocking issues, I call my BB only to be told they dont have the phone in stock yet. Im at my wits end. Like all of you, I want my phone Thursday, should I 1) Order online with overnight delivery? 2) Hope BB gets the Inc in stock tomorrow? or 3) Wait at a VZ store a few hours early Thursday morning? If it helps any, I live in NYC and am paying full price for the phone ( I used my NE2 for the Moto Droid ). Thanks in advance guys!

If I can't get my pre-ordered phone by Thursday from BB, I will order from Verizon before 4:00pm with overnight shipping; I'm off on Friday. I will use the BB gift card for Xmas gifts or my niece's birthday in May.
 
I am INCREDIBLY mad with Verizon right now. I've never been this furious with customer service in my life. Read on if you're curious.

I heard about the SMART30 promo code today, and read about how some people were about to get the discount applied to their already placed order. I figured I would go ahead and do the same.

I called *611, and explained the situation to the CSR. She told me that I could get my problem resolved by the internet service team (8663387390).

I called the internet service team, and reexplained the situation. The CSR said that she had been handling calls about the SMART30 promo all day and that she would gladly give me the discount if I could provide the credit card used to complete the original transaction. I didn't have it on me, so I asked if I could call back later. She said that she took a screenshot of the file (my account? I'm not sure what it was) and placed it into my account-- she ensured me that the next time I called with the card number, I would get my discount.

A couple hours later (just now), I called again, and reexplained my previous call. This CSR said that there was a recent decision (at 4:30pm or something) about the promo code. I couldn't get the discount because I didn't place the order when the promo was up. She said that the promo was an error and was not supposed to have been up until the 1st. I explained that the other CSR said I would get my discount when I came back with my card, and she got the supervisor on the line.

He said the exact same thing. Apparently, everyone who called in today to get the SMART30 discount WILL NOT get the discount if they didn't place their preorder between sometime the day before yesterday and yesterday (even if you called in before 4:30pm).

After some one-sided words (he kept shutting down anything I had to say with "the "treasury" handles all discount requests"), I gave up.

I was speechless, mad, and frustrated. I simply said "okay, thank you, bye" and hung up because I couldn't think of anything else to say.

So yeah. For everyone who got their discount, I don't think you'll be getting them anymore.

I hate Verizon. All they do is cheat us. :(

Why should the pre-order people get shafted out of 30 bucks that the people who buy on the 1st day get to save? Because we're eager to get their new phone as quickly as possible? Because we followed the news and got too psyched for it?

What do you guys think? Should I call back? What do I do?

I'd call back..... third time's a charm right?
 
Ok guys, I live on the west coast (San Diego) and the last two times I talked to an internet sales team CSR they said that my order hasn't been processed yet because the phone is listed as out of stock. One of them went as far to say that he's not even sure I will get my phone on the 29th.

Has anyone else had this problem? How concerned should I be?

One of them was a supervisor and she said they have ordered more phones and they should get mine out tomorrow. But even she wasn't positive about that.

I ordered at around 5:30 p.m. pacific time on 4/20 and this is becoming ridiculous. What do you guys think? Oh and my bank hasn't even been hit with a charge yet.

They aren't exactly cheating you. You were willing to pay that price when you ordered it. The $30 is supposed to be an incentive for people canceling the order due to expense. People should be greatful they were able to take it off, for those that did.
 
I'm looking at the SMART30 promo as just another promotion. Last week it was free activation. This week it's another $30 off the phone itself. Next week it will be something else.

I tried. I was told due to a contract with Verizon they couldn't hold it until it was undeliverable at least once.

i think you have got to call the place that its shipping out of. i called fed ex ground first and he looked it up and said it was shipping with express so he gave me their number. i called them and at first the girl told me to call the 1800 number and asked how i got that number. i told her they told me to call their to get my package held, so she was like ok be here at 9. or maybe i just got someone cool and you didn't, more likely.

I am also from San Diego. I ordered it on 19th and it was delivered this morning. Unfortunately no one was home, the FedEx guy left a tag that said I could pick it up at their center after 6pm.

Was on hold with Verizon for over 20 minutes when I called *611. I felt like the phone got a bit warm. But I also have to say it feels far from cheap or plasticky to me. So, far I am really loving it. And, there is definitely going to be a learning curve on this phone. For example, it just made a noise and now I have to figure out what that noise meant :)
 
They said at the end this is where they usually compare it to the iPhone and it falls short, they said not the case here and actually out performs the iPhone in a few areas like camera. Sweet!:D

Internet sales also told me that. But they said that they got in more today and orders should be shipped out today. I would assume its cheaper for Verizon to do 2day deliver rather than overnight. So I am hoping mine ships today given I did just place the order today.
 
just got back from the verizon store....got to play with it for a great 20 minutes and i want to kill myself.....

















BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE IT YET!!!!! :(
