I called the FedEx sort facility, but that truck is not being unloaded until later tonight. I was ready to drive out to West Sac and pick it up. ;)
Hector said he'd have put it aside for me, but it'll be like 9pm before they even open up that trailer. :(

Oh well, I wasn't really expecting it until tomorrow, and fortunately, they're usually here around 11am +/- :)

I can see his point on the code. If no one got it and they stuck to their guns I would be fine with it. But all through this deal they have been inconsistent. Some were allowed to order through CS, some were allowed to preorder at stores, some were able to keep their overnight shipping status, and at BB some got the NE2. It baffles me that it is so hard to keep things uniform and fair. I understand some things were mistakes but it seems like they are having more than usual. Call me an idot or worse or whatever, but is the same treatment for everyone to much to ask?

Mistakes are made in large companies, granted Verizon has had more than their fair share during this Incredible launch; but in their defense they usually do a great job of rectifying mistakes. I just think people have no right to go off the deep end on Verizon CSR's because of a perceived right to a discount. Nothing has changed to make your Incredible any less appealing.

What do I do now? Ordering on 4/20 and people getting shipping notifications that ordered yesterday, I am thoroughly disgusted to say the least. This is a complete joke.

Not to be jerk but I placed my order this morning around 11ish EST and my order has been processed. Just waiting for tracking number now.
 
I'm starting to think with all these glitches in shipping way early ... shipping 2 day fedex .. shipping USPS and now people that ordered yesterday getting phones today and others that ordered a week ago that arent getting a phone at all? They must be pulling phones from warehouses all over the country to make good on these preorders, which from the poster before they arent even going to be able to do that.

my thoughts are:

Verizon didn't realize what they actually had in this HTC Incredible ... looks like the thought of "we" are the only people that really want or know about this phone wasn't true, people were sitting there waiting for this phone or a phone like it the whole time.

Seems alot more than just the few thousand were just sitting there waiting for a phone better than the Moto Droid, I know I have been basically waiting since this was rumored the HTC Passion or one of the other names it was going to be called.

I think they are overwhelmed because massive preorders they really did not count on, the website slowdowns the weird shipping times, I feel they are really getting blasted on sales for these things ... perhaps they'll listen the next time they get a few 100 emails begging them to make a better smartphone because we will buy it!

Can you imagine if they would have had a TV campaign on this phone?

lol the website would have prolly gone down a week ago and still wouldnt be up.
 
Just FYI, you cant get the DI early at a VZW store...

I sweet talked one of the reps at a small kiosk to try to sell it to me, the Verizon system wouldn't let her go through with the order, it blocked the sale. She said she was curious if it would even let her do it... no dice guys, 29th it is for in store sales.
 
What is everyone doing for a screen protector? The one on the VZW site only covers part of the screen so I am looking for something else. Anyone find anything reasonable from Amazon.com or something? Thanks :)

Seems like they need to have a few more of their purchasing managers hanging out here. Then they can actually get some good information on how many phones to order.... :p

I still havent received my tracking number. Not a big deal at all, but I would like some confirmation that it exists and is in transit. I'm going to DC for the weekend and I want to make sure I have it before I leave on Friday.

That's exactly what I was told "We didn't expect this kind of turnout for the device". I don't know, it has better specs than anything on their site and is priced the same as the Moto Droid. Maybe just me but you don't have to be Kreskin to figure that it's going to be a hot seller. After the announcement and before the preorder I went to a lot of different sites and there was huge buzz on it, so it wasn't just here. I wonder if they maybe they didn't have a stellar launch on something like the Palm Pre and didn't want to have too much stock on hand.
 
i bought a zagg that protects the whole front for like 15$. i'm going to use one of my moms vzw screen protectors since she also pre ordered the incredible (forced her to) and that comes with 3. then over the weekend or next i'm going to buy a sick case (maybe the gradient one) and install my zagg protector. it's just that you should wait 12 hrs to let it dry but i won't be able to do that the first week.

I know this device is sort of hidden, not advertised like it was just some flip phone of which they seem to think they need 20 different models of, pretty scary they don't even know their own market.
 
Hey guys - sorry if this has already been asked/answered (don't think it has though...searched the forums - and googled it - didnt find anything).

Does anyone (in particular those that already have the phone) know how media is stored on the sd card? like...will the phone create different folders on the sd card for music, wallpapers, videos, etc. like my LG Dare does? I'm just wondering because I just got my 16GB MicroSD card today and i have over 250GB worth of music to pick and choose from. I want to be able to have the card ready for the phone when it gets here on thursday. :) Thanks!

I can definitely see that being the case. And at the same time, its hard to believe they wouldnt be prepared for huge (maybe just big?) preorder numbers.

i would let the phone format the card then add to it
 
So the first iPhone took, like, 72 days to sell a million units, right?

If they're already selling out of that initial 156,000 units that was on the leaked inventory pics, before the launch date has even arrived, how long do you think it'll take to sell a million Incredibles? :)

To reach a million sold its going to need some advertising and promotion, so that depends on how Verizon handles it. But if there were 150,000 preorders, then Verizon will promote the shit out of this phone.
 
So I received my phone today!!!! I dont really know how though because I was one of the one that got my card declined by Cap One. My order status still says the whole Please Check Back Tomorrow. But oh well, no complaints here, this phone is a powerhouse!
