It's a capacitive screen-gloves and a stylus work with resistive screens.
Did you try it? According to the documentation on the touch sensor (Atmel maXTouch), you can.

Well today was an incredible day. I broke 3 PR's in my track meet today in the 100(3rd place), 200(2nd place), and 400(4th place). My car got back from the shop. To top it off got my call from best buy to make an appointment for my phone. I am SUPER happy, nothin against the incredible but breaking 3 PR's was definatly my favorite thing today.
I have a friend who has an iPod. He actually has gloves with special finger pads that let him work his iPod while wearing gloves. I'll check them out when I'm at his place tomorrow night to see if they work w/ the DI.
That is not what Atmel, the maker of the screen claims! Are you verifying this or stating opinion?

I belive that Atmel makes the touch sensor, not the screen itself.
Your probably right about that, I apologize, but when I feel like a shoe fits somebody it's hard not to make them try it on.
Update: Did I just apologize to somebody with 9 posts? Oh well, probably for the best.
can you turn off haptic feedback when typing?
I would think the touch layer and sensor would be a pair. Be kind of hard to design a sensor that will have those features with any design... When I say screen, I mean the sensor layer, not the OLED part. It is a glass sandwich you know..
Had an enlightening discussion with a senior CSR at VZW today. No question that VZW were blindsided by the pent-up demand for the Inc. They modeled their numbers based on the Droid launch, which was supported by a massive mass media marketing campaign. The Inc was never going to match that, right?
Wrong. CSR says that the presales for Inc are a factor of 10 higher than the Droid, and the pipeline is being sucked dry already. They are pounding HTC for more production, but that's not easy to ramp up quickly.
Its hard to be too hard on VZW. Back at CTIA time we weren't sure if this phone was going to happen at all, nor what the real specs would be. VZW's conventional planning might seem wrong in hindsight, but they probably aren't going to assume a factor of 5x+ the early Droid sales [costing millions in advertising] based on a bunch of obsessive geeks [us] on an Android forum. Any Product Manager who tried that would be working a kiosk in a heartbeat.
Does anybody know what the passcode lock for Sense is like? I know stock Android has the pattern thing, but I've never seen it on a Sense one. Thanks!

Ok, so HTC designed the touch layer of the screen using the Atmel sensor.
How do you like the case? I got mine yesterday and the sides don't seem to stay clipped as well as the top and bottom. I don't have a phone to go in it yet, though.Hey all, I got the phone and gradient case today and took some pics. Here's a preview:

Remember when they said May release date and we were all like "bull!" Well...they were right :|
I hope that stores like BB get the number of phones that they requested. I'm #5 at my local BB located in Southpark Mall in Colonial Heights, VA.
I would assume so... I cannot believe no one has tried this yet... I think this is the final mystery of this phone to be reported on. Who will be the person to make this one final and momentous report to the official thread?? Who can rise to the occasion? Who can stop fondling their phones and selves long enough??
