Well today was an incredible day. I broke 3 PR's in my track meet today in the 100(3rd place), 200(2nd place), and 400(4th place). My car got back from the shop. To top it off got my call from best buy to make an appointment for my phone. I am SUPER happy, nothin against the incredible but breaking 3 PR's was definatly my favorite thing today.

Big congrats!!:)

I belive that Atmel makes the touch sensor, not the screen itself.

I would think the touch layer and sensor would be a pair. Be kind of hard to design a sensor that will have those features with any design... When I say screen, I mean the sensor layer, not the OLED part. It is a glass sandwich you know.. I call the OLED part the "display".. engineering background side-effect.

If they shipped mine USPS via 2 day standard TODAY... got email at 3.00 pm w/ delivery confirmation...

does TODAY count as a day? so i may get tomorow or thurs?

Your probably right about that, I apologize, but when I feel like a shoe fits somebody it's hard not to make them try it on.

Update: Did I just apologize to somebody with 9 posts? Oh well, probably for the best.:)

Why on earth is your apology affected by how many post someone has?

Had an enlightening discussion with a senior CSR at VZW today. No question that VZW were blindsided by the pent-up demand for the Inc. They modeled their numbers based on the Droid launch, which was supported by a massive mass media marketing campaign. The Inc was never going to match that, right?
Wrong. CSR says that the presales for Inc are a factor of 10 higher than the Droid, and the pipeline is being sucked dry already. They are pounding HTC for more production, but that's not easy to ramp up quickly.

Its hard to be too hard on VZW. Back at CTIA time we weren't sure if this phone was going to happen at all, nor what the real specs would be. VZW's conventional planning might seem wrong in hindsight, but they probably aren't going to assume a factor of 5x+ the early Droid sales [costing millions in advertising] based on a bunch of obsessive geeks [us] on an Android forum. Any Product Manager who tried that would be working a kiosk in a heartbeat.

can you turn off haptic feedback when typing?

On my Hero you can, so I believe on Incredible you will be able to. You will do this in the keyboard settings. This is the way I get to the keyboard settings:

1. Long press the menu and then release.
2. Press the settings icon (next to the keyboard icon).
3. Press Text input.
4. Uncheck Vibrate when typing.

Ok, so HTC designed the touch layer of the screen using the Atmel sensor.

Wow thats CRAZY!! Well, I hope my order has been shipped then! There is no way to know. All the site says is:
" Your order has been processed. You should receive your order within 2 - 3 business days."
God I hope so... No shipping confirmation yet..Better get it on Thurs :-P

I know everybody is really excited about getting their Incredible right now, but have a general question. Does anybody know if you can call up spreadsheets from your google account containing documents and edit the spreadsheets with this phone? Just curious if anybody knew. Thanks.

I hope that stores like BB get the number of phones that they requested. I'm #5 at my local BB located in Southpark Mall in Colonial Heights, VA.

i know it's the best phone right now, but how is it looks wise for those of you who got it? better looking then say an iphone? also does it look like the front will scratch and scuff easily? i know there's videos online but they always look different in person.

Ok, so HTC designed the touch layer of the screen using the Atmel sensor.

I would assume so... I cannot believe no one has tried this yet... I think this is the final mystery of this phone to be reported on. Who will be the person to make this one final and momentous report to the official thread?? Who can rise to the occasion? Who can stop fondling their phones and selves long enough??

Hey all, I got the phone and gradient case today and took some pics. Here's a preview:

How do you like the case? I got mine yesterday and the sides don't seem to stay clipped as well as the top and bottom. I don't have a phone to go in it yet, though.

I have no solid sense of the stock situation, other than they are sellign a LOT more than they planned. We're hearing that new pre-orders are closed on VZW online. That said, BB are a major channel and is unlikely to get shorted.

Anyone who has pre-ordered should be OK, but that's just an opinion. My preorder was hanging in 'being processed' until yesterday, and is now on its way with Fedex. Some orders placed as late as Monday have been shipped.

The Inc could be a monster. I'm sure the folks at Cupertino are watching their market share predictions shrink by the day.

If I am able to get the phone this week from BB and no one else has tried it, they Thursday or Friday, I will post the results.
