for those who have the phone...is it nice? like really nice? it's obviously the best phone until it's big brother the evo 4g comes out (still like the incredible b/c of size) but is it nicer then devices such as the nexus one and 3gs?

If you guys want to get past the initial activation screen, when prompted to activate, tap activate and end the call. Do this 3 times and it will bypass activation and go through the rest of the setup process and you will be able to get your wifi up and running on the Incredible.

Yep, I had that dreaded status. However, I am now being told that the west center's stock was replenished with phones as of 5:00 p.m. pacific time. They say I should get my order processed and shipped tomorrow. We will see!!

I got mine today!!!!!!!!!! I was able to go to the FedEx facility and pick it up. Been getting used to it for a few hours now and I am very impressed. Still trying to get used to the Android OS but I like it so far.

I went to my local Verizon store and asked if they had any accessories and they said no. I then pulled the Incredible out and their jaws dropped and asked how I got it. I said my pre-order shipped early. They then went to the back and got me some cases to choose from. I will uses theirs until Seidio gets theirs in.

Thanks to this forum for getting me pumped up for this phone. It was well worth all the shananagins that went on here. I will be here for a long time.

i know it's the best phone right now, but how is it looks wise for those of you who got it? better looking then say an iphone? also does it look like the front will scratch and scuff easily? i know there's videos online but they always look different in person.

I am surprised at how it feels. It doesn't feel plasticky at all. It feels really nice. It is heavier than the Eris (which I don't own but have felt in the store) so it feels more substantial but not as heavy as my husband's Moto Droid. I like his Droid but the weight of it was one of my reasons against it. The specs are very close to that of an iPhone but it doesn't feel as bulky as an iPhone feels to me. And, I should say, I do love Apple...rather their products not so much of the company...and I do use a Mac and have for many, many years. I am not an AT&T fan. I like my Incredible so much I can honestly say if the Verizon iPhone came out next week I would have no regrets having this phone. The screen is stunning. I don't know if it will scratch. I wouldn't put it in my pocket with my keys and I wouldn't just throw it in my purse. I'm hoping it won't scratch easily and I will get some kind of after market cover for it soon.

Oh, yes. I just called Verizon and asked them to apply the SMART30 promo code to my Incredible order. He said he couldn't do the discount because I didn't order my phone inside of the promo window, but he discounted the red/black gradient case I just ordered. So now I'm getting my case for free. For all of the complaining about Verizon's shipping methods I've been hearing, I for one think they deserve credit for their kickass customer service.

I read that the promo window was throught May 3rd.

I would assume so... I cannot believe no one has tried this yet... I think this is the final mystery of this phone to be reported on. Who will be the person to make this one final and momentous report to the official thread?? Who can rise to the occasion? Who can stop fondling their phones and selves long enough??

Should be out for delivery tomorrow! F'n stoked and def working from home tomorrow. Heading to the local VZW for a case tomorrow afternoon with phone in hand. FINALLY!!! My wife thinks I will have a hard time sleeping tonight but I told her no way, the sooner I get to sleep the faster morning will get here. Just like grandmamma used to say on christmas eve...

Don't know if this will be exactly the same, but wikipedia says notebook trackpads are capacitive and I have used them with gloves on before. If phone capacitive tech is different I apologize but that's my experience FWIW.

URGENT QUESTION:

I am currently pre-ordering my phone, and I have a dilemma.

I have 2 VZW Rebate cards that I want to use, $50 a piece. Where do I put these in at? How do you use these online?

Did you try it? According to the documentation on the touch sensor (Atmel maXTouch), you can.

I know one of the accessory stores is advertising a stylus for the DI. I don't know about gloves. Hope this helps.

I tried leather and snow gloves and a DS stylus and the screen does not move. But speed test of my fios WiFi is 8.2 mbps down and 2.4 up

I actually got insurance for the phone through my home/property insurance. The company was Inland Marine (not my home/property insurance carrier), $3 for every $100 of coverage per year with a $100 deductible. My agent said it covers dropping, theft, hardware failure, the only thing he didn't say & I didn't ask was water damage. Have to check that out tommorrow. Just a thought for people looking for insurance. Btw, it is a separate company/policy under my home/property insurance he said because the device will be going out of the house.

Edit: He said this is the same type of policy people get for expensive guns and such.

I have no solid sense of the stock situation, other than they are sellign a LOT more than they planned. We're hearing that new pre-orders are closed on VZW online. That said, BB are a major channel and is unlikely to get shorted.

Anyone who has pre-ordered should be OK, but that's just an opinion. My preorder was hanging in 'being processed' until yesterday, and is now on its way with Fedex. Some orders placed as late as Monday have been shipped.

The Inc could be a monster. I'm sure the folks at Cupertino are watching their market share predictions shrink by the day.

I went to a Verizon store this evening, asked if they had the Incredible. He said no. He then told me that he should have them on the 29th. He looked on his computer to see how many he would be getting (I couldn't get a good look at the screen), he said that with this phone he had no option to order a certain amount, he could only get what Verizon decided to send to his store...the count was three! Corporate is sending a total of three Incredibles to his store for launch. He said they would go immediately on the 29th because many people have been coming in asking for the phone.
