Did they? I dont see those pictures there. I know they arent official, I was just wondering whether the final model would/wouldnt have the silver ring around the trackpad.

Would you still buy the phone if it did or did not have the silver ring?

Did anyone notice there was a lot of redundant and conflicting information in the incredible-equipment-guide spec sheet that was provided to one of the tech blogs (Engadget I think) by Anonimac? The blurb about insurance was mentioned twice, the fact that it had a camera with a flash was mentioned twice (once autofocus was mentioned and the second time it wasn't). And one spec mentioned the device would support up to 16 GB micro SD card and another spec on the same sheet said it would support up to a 32 GB micro SD card. It mentions the tools twice and the wi-fi twice as well. It also doesn't mention the compass, which the user guide does. To me it looks like a rough draft that wasn't proof read. There was definitely redundant info. Just seems sloppy to me.

Hah, don't get me wrong, I dont care the slightest as to whether there is a a silver ring there. I'm just curious and trying to pass the time until release. I probably would have still bought this phone if it still had that ugly red back ;)

Usually leaks aren't the latest and greatest revision. These documents could have already been corrected. Since they don't print hard copies anymore, making changes is much less expensive.

So are we to disregard the information in this document? Which is more reliable at this point, this spec sheet, or the user guide?

LOL I was just wondering. It seems that people are nit-picking on so many little things.. It not shipping with a MicroSD Card, why there is no silver ring, onboard storage, amount of ROM differences, etc...

By the way.. I'm in Columbus.

i witnessed the HD2 first hand.

First it's a fantastic phone overall. Although it does use windows mobile so your apps are 40 bucks a pop. If you care less about apps then I guess it doesn't matter much.

The game breaker for me IS the size. It's just to big for me. Also because the screen is bigger battery life sucks pretty bad. I think the EVO has a better battery though so maybe not as bad for the Evo.

I would definitely check out the HD2 and Evo before buying because I think they're just to big.

I like the size of the incredible so I'll stick with that.

For everyone wondering about the evo vs inc, there are two things you can do to help you decide. First check the sprint and VZW coverage map in your area and ask people about their experience. If sprint sucks then your choice is easy, but if they are close then that makes it tougher. The other thing you can do is go to a T-Mobile store and play with a HD2. It has the same size as the evo so you can compare. You will either love the size or hate it. Just some advice to put out there.

Not saying that at all. Just take them with a grain of salt.

Dammit I hope VZW is selling this thing same time as Bestbuy ... just got off the phone with them and they pretty much danced all around the NE2 and upgrade pricing question. Maybe that was just the rep but hey ..... Anyway I don't wanna wait much longer than release (I want it now) to get this bad boy. Also, when I finally asked about the Incredible the kids voice just changed like I had just asked him for access codes to the Pentagon ... I think some stores are still on the deny everything tip. Anyone wanna PM with some good news for buying on release with NE2 and Upgrade pricing?

your going to need a larger card when this phone comes out... just think about the awesome 3.7in amoled screen and loading movies on it to watch whenever my favorite is at work when it is really slow lol
You might be right, but if I ever got caught doing that, I would be part of the high unemployment rate plaguing the country. I'll have to do my best to avoid making the US look any worse.;) It's bad enough I sneak in an episode or two of 24 using VCast!!

Silver ring? We don't need no stinkin silver ring!
We are the Incredible Hard Core.
We'll buy the Inc even if it has NO cow bell.

;)
Haha, agreed. Ive been following this phone since last year and I've pretty much committed myself to buying this phone whether I like it or not (thankfully, I do).

I'm just thankful Verizon is getting an all-touch Snapdragon powered phone. I'm tired of looking like a gawking idiot trying to catch a peek at people's N1 in public. Walked up to a guy who was playing with his N1 in a bar a week ago and asked if I could see it. Thankfully he didnt think I was a creep and he let me vent about Verizon, lol.

Just finished reading the Incredible User Guide.

Here's my ONE and ONLY issue: Why would HTC deside to put the LED notification on the BACK of the phone? Am I the only one that see's this as an issue? I use the LED ALL THE TIME - its just too easy to glance down and see you have a new notification. Now I'll have to keep the phone FACE DOWN in order to see the LED. Wierd idea HTC...

You're right. Things have been at a fever pitch for so long that when some people got a hold of the user guide, they read it as if the document was in it's final release. The phone hasn't even officially been announced yet, so we all need to understand that there are going to be errors in this document, even AFTER the phone is released. :)

Question, since were on the topic of SD cards...hopefully viperboy can see this, or any other VZW CSR...

Anyone know (and I know there's a lot of you that are doing the same as me) know if when I exchange my Droid before my 30-days is up to get the Incredible, if they will let me keep my 16gb MicoSD card? Or is that one of the things that's gonna have to go back in the box?

I would probably put it out in the car in case you get a very thorough rep who is looking for every last detail. I did not routinely think to look at memory cards when taking back phones, so I am sure I inadvertently gave away several cards. ;)

I'd reread that section again if I were you.

MIMO routers can broadcast both speeds so you do not have to sacrifice your 802.11n network when you fire up an older machine. I run an 802.11n network at home and run both. My speed on the main PC does not drop when I fire up my Tablet that still uses 802.11g wireless.

Last I herd all 802.11n routers were MIMO since they get their extended range by broadcasting multiple signals and maximizing use of signal bouncing off walls and whatnot.

I'm really ooking forward to the Incredible especialy to replace my failing MotoQ 9c and actually have data service at home again!

I know this a little off topic, but want to get the best and fastest speeds with the HTC Incredible at home. So Im setting up a whole new system.

Does anyone know about these two products? If not what is the absolute best router and wireless modem to get?

Motorola SB6120 SURFboard DOCSIS 3.0 eXtreme Broadband Cable Modem

Cisco-Linksys E3000 High-Performance Wireless-N Router
