What would be the point of a front facing cam on a CDMA phone. Only GSM phones can have video calling because they have data and voice at the same time....unless this phone is an LTE phone there would be 0 use. Its the LED, Light, and proximity sensor.

Or if you had some quirky deal with a VOIP company, but no one would do that.

Edit: I don't think they'll be a FF camera, just playing devil's advocate.

hey question on LTE... If VZW is gonna use CDMA for voice and LTE for data when it first rolls out could you use data while you're on the phone talking to someone, since they are 2 different technologies??
From what i've read, yes. That is what they plan to do.

For crying out loud. We have the MANUAL for this phone. It breaks down what each nook and cranny is for this phone. THERE IS NO FRONT FACING CAMERA in the MANUAL. Therefore, it doesn't have one. If you don't believe me, check it out for yourself. MOST everyone that comes here day in and day out realize this and have scoured every inch of that manual. If it had one, we would have had 30 pages by now talking about how awesome it will be or how useless it will be. If it will work now or next year, etc.

Look closer... ;)

From what I can tell the ridges are a lot less dramatic then they looked in some of the earlier photos, especially the one with the red/orange back. That is why I am going to reserve judgment on the shape of the phone until after I get my hands on it. Can we assume that the leaked dimension (.47 inches) is a measurement of the fattest part of the phone?

On another note NKT, I truly expected that when we went to the Verizon site and saw the incredible it was going to be your pictures with the blurred out screen. I am so used to seeing those all over the internet.:D

I was told this morning by a rep that the phone is upgradeable to LTE by hitting *228, send then option 2 once LTE is up and running.

edit: Or another possibility is that they have 2 models one GSM for t-mobile and one for CDMA then the chassis would have a hole but no camera for the CDMA model. My omnia has that.

Most people with a camera phone like to take pictures of themselves (a la Myspace and Facebook). Maybe they finally notices that and decided to put the camera in the front :p Of course this is just a joke don't take me literally please.

so if you can talk on the phone and use data at the same time via LTE then a front facing camera wouldn't be a bad idea (if the incredible ends up with one and capable of lte with an OTA update)

What about wifi?

Trust me, the ridges are there. But as I said previously, they're really not that noticeable. It's just enough to give it some character.

It was nice to see a more official photo out. Takes the pressure of me

While I would LOVE for the incredible to be LTE capable, it just doesn't seem likely. Why make it like that when only limited markets will have LTE in 8 months at the soonest. We can still hope, though.

ATT needs to fire Luke Wilson, with all that cash he's makin he just keeps getting fatter and fatter with each commercial...Too bad it isn't enough to save that sinking ship (ATT)

Gosh, After the Incredible comes out, he might even pop! :D

Boy did I pick the right day to start following this thread! I've been following the "Droid Incredible" for a while now, found this site and saw the link to sign up for pre-order information from Verizon. I got my email address in probably only minutes b4 the site went down. Thanks guys!!!!

i agree, just going off of what the other member said about a VZW rep saying it'd be upgradable to LTE ;)

I can't imagine a scenario where a video call would use normal voice channels for the speech portion of the call and data channels for the video. In all likelyhood, it would be a pure data conversation, just like Skype on your PC.

First post!

I waited to send my corporate VZW rep an email about the incredible until it was "official". Now that the site is down, it didn't lend me any creedence; however, he still toed the non-disclosure line. He indicated that the phone indeed was coming to VZW (we already knew that), that the official date hadn't yet been released (uh huh....), and that he anticipated the price to be $199 w/2-year agreement.

No new info, but I thought I'd post up what I got from my guy!
